Almost scammed for £32,000 (Patreon edition)

This is an early access and extended version of a forthcoming video... just for my $3+ Patrons.

I witnessed an attempt to scam an elderly man of £32,000 (around $40,000) by a scammer from Kolkata in India. They tried to convince him to go to his local Santander Bank and transfer funds to another UK bank account. This video describes their techniques for persuading him to do this and the coaching they gave him to ensure that he complied with their demands.

Many thanks for your support - without you, these videos would not be possible.

This just happened to my disabled sister who is in a nursing home and she was saying how disabled she was. 😢 He was shouting at her because she had difficulty following instructions. I am gutted.

You welcome Jim

"Thomas Purell" will be in hell, hearing all these lies played back to him on endless loop...

Again, a worthy and/or valuable intercept you've made Jim. Keep up your good work! It could be good to get your chanel and positive work noticed! I'll see what I can do here in Belgium. Regards, Ive

"YOU CAN TELL THEM"

Please keep up the great work. I have to wonder - as I am sure many do - just why the 'authorities' cannot do as you do to catch these thieves. Maybe they do something AFTER the scam but we know that can result in a whole lot of red tape. Oh, maybe I just answered my own question.

Not suprised about Lloyds at all to be fair. At least Santander was trying to make an effort

Wow TSB really?

I can't imagine the Christmas that would have been in store for this poor man and his family without you stepping in. It must be so confusing for the guy to have two perfect strangers telling them different things, which makes your job harder, especially when the scammer has had 30 minutes to sell their story. You only hope they make the instant association to the man who does not want them to transfer all their money away!

I don't know where you have to leave your conscience to do this. Its mostly the guys at the top making the money of course and the minions doing the dirty jobs. But even so, it's hard to see past the callousness.

this shit makes me so mad

Damn how low can these people go. Thank you Jim for making this world a better place.

Is it wrong of me to want to go to Kolkata and break some kneecaps? I mean lower scum then this is hard to find!

I hope I can drive or even walk at 91...

He did have one scamming company that sent him a virus file a defamation complaint against the first part of that particular batch of videos, blocking it in the UK. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXrACl03dIw

"You're 91 and you still drive". Thanks for the cardiac arrest, Jim...

Completely unconscionable. I'm curious Jim, have you had any issues with your videos being on youtube, i.e. being reported by the scammers? As you are aware Deeveeaar is having huge issues, although what he is doing is slightly different (his daily live streaming). Just curious if you have had videos removed, or had any warnings or strikes against your account yet. Keep fighting the good fight! - Kevin
