Scamming the over 50s - Extended Patreon Version

I'll be posting a shortened version of this to YouTube, but this version contains much more of the grilling and excuses from this scamming organisation, Haloteck.net.

Thank you all for sponsoring me - you make this possible.

P.S. Our scammer, Nimmi, likes to doodle...even her own name. Very artistic... don't you think?

Pretty good. I think you need a dose of kitboga in your routine. Sooth them and be more patient. Better results happen. But I understand the anger at these people.

JLaw

as entertaining as this video is, I'm not sure the objective of engaging these scam artists in any kind of conversation as every word out of their mouths is a lie. Hearing you confront "Ninny" was good to hear. Nice work tho, thanks for your good work Jim!

Thank you for this support Benson.

I'm a huge fan of Jim and what he's doing but I do think there are better ways he can communicate with/ expose the scammers rather than going around in circles and not admitting to anything. I like the recent videos where he begins the conversation with the scammer with a picture of the scammer on his desktop, keep up the good work!

I watched a lot of your other videos; the thing that stands out in this video is the calm voice of the scammer. Her English is quite good. Nice job JB, really awesome!

Its amazing what you are doing! Keep standing up!

"Do you think Jesus would be pleased with your scam?" That cracked me up hard. Thanks Jim for stepping in, as always

This sickens me. The longer I go after these guys, the more convinced I am that they deliberately target older people. They actively look for the more vulnerable. At least she contacted you first. They can't have any empathy. Perhaps they don't speak to their grandparents or don't have any sense other than to line their own pockets in any way possible.

I am furious. My mother is 87 years old. Someone called her, pretended to be one of her (many) grandchildren, claimed to have been involved in an accident, and needed $6K to pay medical bills. Or he would probably die. What the HELL. These people deserve to burn. Luckily she didn't give him anything, she called me and asked if she should. She was in tears. 'What if I don't pay and one of my grandchildren dies?'

Thanks Rohan. And thank you for being a sponsor!

Loved the interrogation. Great work!

Hey... Really do not worry about this. Your support on Patreon is more than enough. Thank you again for this. I intend to run a Patron-only live stream shortly.

Hi JB YouTube cancelled a super-chat payment without my consent as there was an issue regarding a double charge. I'll try and send it here or catch you Live next time. Best regards G.

I've had a lot of different people from India who have said that they will raise this with their local police, but never once has anyone, from any Indian police authority ever approached me. I've tried the same myself and, other than one crime reference number, I have never heard back from anyone in India. I can only conclude that it's just not seen as a serious enough crime by under-resourced police, or there really is bribery happening. Who knows?

Jim Browning

Really good content! This is a perfect example of taking the "Investigative Reporter" approach to confronting a wrong-doer. I so wish we could find reliable contacts in India that could do the exact same thing, but in person.

Erh… this is the extended version??? It's about twice as long? You should also have other content?

Jim Browning

You lied to me!

You went by the alias of John Williams, the famous composer? Hahahahaha

Sam Wittsell

Up to a point... I really need to find out what the various victims will be up against when they try to reclaim their money. It won't be easy.

Jim Browning

Great work Jim! Impressive how calm you are when confronting them.

Bjørn T.

And actually rejecting calls from younger people. It boggles the mind.

Jim Browning

I had the impression that you've cornered them Jim! :-) I can still not comprehend that one can make a living out of lying to innocent people (my father is a (well warned) 80 year old computer user, mom is not into any of it at all). Thx again for your splendid effort!

Give me a shout if you'd like a hand with it!

Jim Browning

Naw. If you saw her in action, you'd know what sort of person she is. Although I really hope she is finds it a little more difficult to sleep these nights. It's not often she will hear her real name quoted to her.

Jim Browning

I'll give it a go, but she pretty much refused to answer a 'yes'/'no' question, so somehow I doubt if she will open up... but you never know.

Jim Browning

Thanks Adrian. I'll probably use this advice. I'm writing emails to the victims right now. I'll push them to reclaim via their credit card companies.

Jim Browning

Dog with a bone sometimes. When you have the clearest evidence possible, I'd like to hear an admission. Most can't just bring themselves to admit it though.

Jim Browning

You are deliciously relentless & quite an inspiration. I could almost see her squirming in her seat wanting nothing more than to bolt! Thanks for your efforts, Jim, and stay safe.

Oh, she knows exactly what she is doing. I recorded her typing all of that 'Alueron Trojan' stuff, yet she still denied typing it. You don't say that without knowing exactly what you're doing. She sees the same popups every day and they all have their phone number on them. Strange that.

Jim Browning

Good work. The best advice for all these victims isn't to call back this organisation and be subjected to their verbal misdirections and false claims. The best advice would be to report the transaction as fraudulent to their credit card company and by way of explanation send a link to your video to the fraud team at their credit card provider. The credit card company will chargeback the payment gateway provider and the payment gateway provider will chargeback the scammers. The victim will get their money back regardless of whether the payment gateway provider is succesful in getting the money back from the scammers. If the payment gateway isn't successful at getting their money back or the ratio of chargebacks to successful transactions gets too bad then the payment gateway will stop dealing with the scammers and this ultimately will make it more and more difficult for them to function.

Another VERY impressive act of righteous action and confrontation Jim!! I loved your persistence in trying to redirect Nimi back to confront her lies and conscience in a calm and patient way. It's quite interesting to me that she hesitated so dramatically in admitting her treachery when it came to writing out the line about the virus. Though on "life support", her conscience is still breathing. I hope her lost soul will be influenced by your efforts. Have you thought about using their cultural biases to further leverage your position and influence? ... I understand that family honor and the concept of Karma (cause and effect/what you sow you reap) is an inseparable part of the culture in India and might be used to great affect. Perhaps something like "Nimi, you understand the law of Karma... Why do you continue to plant these seeds of evil action and bring shame to you and your family by hurting and deceiving others in this way? " Or, "For the sake of your own well being, please stop creating bad karma for yourself and your family. Is deceiving people to make money what you really want to do? You are obviously an intelligent person. Please Nimi, reconsider what you are doing and make changes in your life, before the bad karma your creating becomes overwhelming, and you and your family suffer deeply"..... Just a thought Jim, if you want to try it... It could be effective to those who still have a little conscience left, even after they hang up the call. Good luck and keep up the great work!

I do wonder is 'Mary' knows she is scamming people? She could be using macros such as auto hot key to enter the dir command in the CMD box as well as the subsequent fake virus 'warning' message all in one button press.

Evil evil scammers. I’ll be coming up with a plan soon, hopefully it could work

Poor Mary!(jk) - Anything that will make it a little harder for her to sleep at night can't be a bad thing.
