Neia's body is paraded through the Elf Kingdom Capital of Crescent Lake by the hordes of elves she rescued from slavery and torment during her brutal campaign. Queen Zesshi Zetsumei stands in respect to the passing of the hero, whose end marks the dying of the Heroic Age and begins the dawning of the great Age of Expansion.
Neia Baraja's long life came to a close in her nineties, a controversial figure in her life, she was many things to many people. A traitor to humanity, the Mother of Terror, the Dark Savior, the Demon of the West, the Scourge of God. She was the Great Liberator, she was the Pope and the founder of the faith and the savior of the elves and... to some, she was simply 'mother' or 'grandmother' and to one pair, she was even 'daughter'.
In her lifetime the Slane Theocracy was overthrown, the elven slaves were liberated, the Sorcerous Empire was established and the Sorcerer King openly acknowledged as an unliving god. The Triumvirate of the Beastmen Empires were at last erased and the sea lanes established, as well as the colonies abroad.
Under her relentless labors, Holy Orders were established, doctrine laid down, and the borders between races and nations alike were erased. While controversy would continue about her after her passing, those who knew and loved her in life, who fought and bled and died beside her, would often answer that she was everything everybody said.
Perhaps she was not infinitely wise, or even infinitely kind or forgiving, but she was infinitely brave and infinitely giving, and never did the world send anyone to it who was better fitted for her mission in life, than Neia Baraja. May she rest in peace.
