What's happening around here
Added 2025-08-01 14:47:23 +0000 UTCHello everyone, good day.
First of all, I want to sincerely apologize. This message should’ve been shared a long time ago, but for different reasons, it kept getting delayed.
It’s never been my intention to lie or hide anything from you, but I do want to explain what's going on. In Argentina, by the end of 2023, Javier Milei took office as president. And while many of us believed his policies could be beneficial long-term, for me personally, the economic shift was drastic. Before that, making around $1000 a month was enough to support my family.
Thanks to your support on Patreon, we were making around $1800 — which was more than enough.
But as 2024 progressed, prices began to “adjust,” and the cost of living increased dramatically.
Now, supporting a family of five requires almost three times what it used to. It’s also important to clarify: even if Patreon shows $1800, around 15% is taken by the platform, and another 15% gets lost in transfer fees.
In the end, $1800 becomes less than $1500 in my pocket. Faced with this situation, I had no choice but to find a second job to make up the difference.
Luckily, I was able to find one in March. While it's not a dream job, it allows me to support my family.
I had hoped to work on the games during downtime at work — but unfortunately, downtime is rare. ---
What's changed?,
The hardest part — for me, and I imagine for you as well — is that the time I can now dedicate to Genex and Reboot went from 12 hours a day to just 3 or 4.
Because of this, the latest update has been delayed far more than I’d like.
I truly believed I could keep up with everything and maintain the same pace, but the reality is: I can't. ---
The important part: The games are still in development.,
This means updates might take longer — maybe once or twice a year — or might be smaller than before.
But they are not canceled, and I have no intention of abandoning them. I know some of you may feel disappointed, frustrated, or even misled — and I completely understand that.
But right now, I have four mouths to feed, and three of my five family members have ADHD.
To make things more complicated, my youngest daughter was recently diagnosed with epilepsy, and we’re giving her the attention she needs.
What now?,
I truly believe I can release an update this August, if everything goes well.
It should include a solid amount of content, and I'm working hard to make it feel worth the wait.
Of course, if circumstances ever improve, I would absolutely love to return to full-time development — it's still my dream.
But unless Argentina’s economy takes another sharp turn, that reality still feels a bit far off for now. I’ve always appreciated your support.
Because of you, I had the chance to work on something I love and even live off it for a while.
I’ll always be grateful for that. If you decide to pause or reduce your support, I’ll completely understand.
But please know this: even if it takes longer, I’ll continue working on Genex and Reboot, doing my best not to compromise the quality we've built so far. Once again, I’m sorry for not saying this earlier.
I truly thought I could handle it, and clearly, I couldn’t.
------
I know this might not be the news many of you hoped for — and if you feel disappointed, frustrated, or even misled, I understand that completely.
You believed in this project, supported it, and gave it value far beyond what I ever imagined.
And for that, I owe you not only transparency — but my deepest gratitude. Still, I truly believe that things can — and will — get better with time.
Not just in my personal situation, but for the project itself.
This journey was never meant to be fast or easy… but it was meant to be shared.
And because of all of you, I’ve never once walked it alone. If fortune changes and life opens new doors, you’ll be the very first to know.
Because this dream is not just mine anymore — it belongs to all of us who cared enough to be here.
Thank you — truly — for your patience, your understanding, and your kindness.
Even in silence, your support speaks louder than words.
And even if the path has become slower, I promise to keep walking it with the same heart as always —
For the games, for you, and for everything we’ve built together so far… and everything still to come.

2025-09-01 23:52:38 +0000 UTCHope things get better but its very understandable IRL is much more important. I will continue to support because your games are absolutely amazing, the subscription is less than most subscriptions i kinda forgot i even had it active nor regret it lol, and finally with the ID verification laws being discussed in US and UK for adult content is a relief to still have access to your games. Good luck to you and your family.

2025-08-11 16:05:03 +0000 UTCI feel you, irl is always a priority especially if you're having a family and you're honest about why it did happen. The news are very comforting and reasurring. This game is a raw gem and I look forward to see the finished version. The only thing I might suggest would be searching for people that want to actively assist you in your developement. There are quite a lot that love helping others in finishing their projects. Just another person or two can take a huge workloade off your shoulders. And if you're on a tight budged that's normal and is always taken in account, maybe some might even assist for free. It's only if you want others to assist in your work or not. I hope this might've been able to help you, I wish you and your family all the best.
