Progress Report
Added 2022-09-08 12:09:22 +0000 UTCGreetings, everyone!
It still feels weird to be working on the final version of Long Live the Princess. Pushing the button to release it is going to be quite the experience once it's done, but even at this stage, putting files in a folder named "1.0" is bizarre in a good way.
Long Live the Princess
My focus continues to be on improving the old, outdated sex scenes, and I will continue to focus on these until they are all updated. In my experience, it's usually a good thing to immediately get the most challenging work out of the way. Because of that, I had already improved Primrose's scenes before this week started. This week, however, my efforts have been entirely focused on the Evelyn/Callie threesome scene. If you have seen it, you will know that it contains a large assortment of positions and camera angles, not to mention the varying states of pubic hair that need to be accounted for. The result is an absolutely staggering amount of renders needed for just one scene.
I can happily report that I just barely managed to finish updating all the images from that scene in time for this progress report. The final tally was 694 images needed for this one scene alone, and it was a ton of work getting it all together. I still need to update the code to point at these new images, but that's the smallest part of the job. This scene also represents the biggest hurdle, by far, in this entire update. All the remaining scenes I intend to update are much, much smaller. Suffice it to say, I don't expect any other scenes to take me an entire week to update, that's for sure.
Supermodel
While Supermodel took a bit of a backseat to LLtP this week, I still managed to squeeze in some time for it as well. Notably, I added the game's first sound effects. You probably know that LLtP has no sound effects whatsoever, but this is something I intend to rectify with Supermodel. Not only will the card game (my current focus) be fully equipped with sound effects, but so will the visual novel portion of the game.
Additionally, I continue to prepare myself for making music for this game. It's been mostly studying tips and tricks from industry experts and experimenting with these concepts while also picking out sounds and instruments that I believe I will need. For now, I haven't really tried putting it all together into an actual melody, but that will happen very soon.
In other news, I will be out of town this weekend, so progress will be a little slower this upcoming week due to that. I will try my best to make up for it once I'm back.
Until next time!
