Progress Report
Added 2022-05-22 15:31:24 +0000 UTCIt's Sunday, which means it's time for another progress report. Well, that's only the case until the next update, anyway, since I tend to post my progress reports on the same weekday that I published the previous update. Did you notice?
Long Live the Princess
Speaking of the next update, it's coming along nicely. This past week had a lot of busywork crop up in real life, so it took some effort to balance everything. Still, I'm a good way into posing and rendering the second of the scenes in this update, with only a small, simpler one to go afterward. And then I'll have to do the writing, which is more complex this time around than most updates since the endgame was finished.
In any case, I'm starting to feel like June is a realistic estimate of when this update will be out. The only roadblock in the way is a one-week vacation I'll be taking in early June, but we'll get back to that. I haven't been on a real vacation for years due to Covid, so I need this chance to catch some sun and relaxation. Even pixies like to relax.
Supermodel
I managed to squeeze in some design work on Supermodel this week. In particular, I wrapped up the basic setup for the characters you'll see in the first update, most notably the things you'll see on their character previews. Speaking of the previews, there are five more to go before we're done, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how people react to several of them.
It might not be quite as concrete as the above, but I keep thinking about Supermodel all the time. Ideas rattle around inside my head for months and even years before I write them down, and this is a natural part of my creative process. For every week that passes, the potential of Supermodel as a game and story increases.
Anyway, that's it for this week. On the less pleasant side, I feel like I might be coming down with a cold. Hopefully, that shouldn't really have a significant effect on development, but we'll see. With some luck, it doesn't even blow up completely. All I feel right now is a bit of a sore throat and general lightheadedness. Here's hoping that's about as bad as it gets.
