Progress Report

I'm happy to report that Nell's tower scene is nearing completion. All the images and animations for this scene are done, and most of them have already been added to the game. I have made minor changes to the opening part of the scene to support some of the new images, and I have made the menus a little more informative (particularly in NG+). The biggest remaining hurdle is updating the animation scripts and fully supporting the new camera angles, including rewriting certain lines of dialogue that no longer fit with the changed poses.
All in all, I expect to be done with this scene very soon, at which point my focus will turn towards the so-called advanced training. All the images in this scene will need to be re-rendered, and their animation improved. Still, the most critical task here will be adding new content related to the stranger in the doorway. If you have seen this scene, you know what I'm talking about. I haven't fully decided how this scene will play out yet, so that will be fun to set up.
There is not much else to say about this week's progress, really. It's mostly business as usual. Still haven't caught Covid despite everyone around me (and I mean everyone) already catching it, so that threat still constantly looms over my head, ready to fuck over all my plans and schedules. But hopefully not.
