Progress Report

Hey everyone!

I have sensed a great disturbance in the Force as if millions of people were returning to their offices at the same time as several massive, highly anticipated video games are released within the span of a week. With these pesky distractions around me, how can I prevail in my development of LLtP? Lend me your strength so that I may survive this onslaught of Covid and video games. 

Seriously though, these past two weeks have seen me returning to the office for my day job, which comes with its own particular set of challenges. Not only does it disturb my daily routines, forcing me back into old ones, but it also means that I'm practically guaranteed to get Covid within the new few weeks. I've got the booster shot so that I shouldn't get hit too hard, but it can be unpredictable. All of this has made it tricky to fully immerse myself in my work on LLtP like I might usually have done. In addition, the aforementioned video games are a huge temptation that I will have to (partly) resist to focus on development. I'm going to try to find a happy balance. The game is perfectly on schedule for a release of 0.40 in April, so there's nothing to worry about there.

At the moment, I have finished the renders that will replace the existing ones in Nell's tower scene. It looks a lot better now, but limitations in Nell's character model mean that it will never be entirely at the visual heights of other scenes in the game. I have said this before, but Nell's 3D model is a nightmare to work with. To finally put her behind me after this update will be a relief, to be perfectly honest. I didn't know what I was doing when I first built that model, and I've been suffering for it ever since.

My plan for the upcoming week is to start rebuilding the sex scenes in the tower. I'm probably going to take a different approach to them now that I have a more suitable environment to pose the characters in, so the positions and camera angles will likely be different from what we had before. And that's good because Nell's sex scenes are among the game's worst at the moment.

And that's it for now. It's Saturday evening here, so I will spend the rest of today playing one of the video games mentioned above (Horizon: Forbidden West for those wondering), then begin work on the animations tomorrow.
