Progress Report

Another productive week! Last weekend, I began the process of writing and coding two of the three new Fairy Queen scenes in version 0.39, and I managed to get quite far with both. Because I have been making such good progress this month that I have time left over, I decided to add a couple of Quality of Life features to the game. These are relatively minor things that haven't been prioritized before but which I feel are necessary before the game can be considered finished.
Two new features were added as part of this process, and I have fully implemented both of them.
1) Character icons on the map. The town map (not the wilderness map) now lets you see a small icon for each character, showing where that character is right now. Ever wonder where Evelyn is at any given moment? Wonder no more! Just open the map and look for her icon. This should make it easier for players to deal with some of the trickier ways characters interact with each other and the MC. For example, it helps you figure out when is a good time to visit Primrose's home, and it lets you see when Thaddeus is alone at the town hall so that you can talk to him. While adding this feature, I also fixed all the annoying bugs and issues with the map screen.
2) An optional route for Primrose. (WARNING: Slight spoilers ahead for those who haven't finished the game. If you don't want to read them, skip to the next paragraph.) The way the game has been structured up until now, you are required to keep Primrose out of prison if you want a good ending. If she ever ends up in prison, even if you free her later, there is no way to avoid a bad end. From version 0.39, this is no longer true. You can now solve Primrose's dark secret even if she ended up in jail. On the flip side, as soon as she is locked up, any romantic or FWB relationship with her is locked away from you for the rest of that game. In other words, you now have a way to win even if you mess up this quest, but if you do, you won't get into a relationship with Primrose.
I plan to write a little more on the Fairy Queen scenes this weekend before turning my attention back to the new game again for a bit. I'm making good progress on both games right now.
Until next time!

I wouldn't consider any of these important enough to hold back a playthrough for. The next big NG+ feature is Sister Agnes and her storyline, but that's still a little way off.
