Progress Report

This is such a fun update for me to work on after the endgame's slow, punishing development. I feel like I'm adding new features at a pace I haven't seen in a long time.
This week, I finished work on the masturbation scene at the beginning of the game. That scene always stuck out as a little weird. Since I would have to revisit it anyway because of its limited "animation," I decided to completely revamp it. This scene will now be more interesting to watch, and it will change in subtle ways during NG+. This scene is also fully animated in line with later sex scenes now, for what it's worth. Not the most exciting of scenes for me to be working on, I suppose, but it had to be done.
I have also been able to chip away at much-needed features that have been put off for ages because they weren't critical to reaching the endgame. For example, I have added two new buttons to the main menu in the screen's upper right corner. One of these buttons opens the spellbook, which shows you what spells you have learned and how many attempts you have left with Invade Mind during the current day.
The other button takes you to the to-do list, which I'm working on right now. This is a much-requested feature that helps remind you of things you might want to do while playing the game. It can be handy if you're stuck or are playing the game after an extended break. This isn't an in-game walkthrough or anything like that. It's just meant to help players figure out what to do next in case they have trouble. For example, some players have a hard time realizing that they need to use Invade Mind on Samarra to present their final findings from the Primrose investigation. The to-do list will point this out. It won't tell players what to present.
Last but not least, NG+ is now working in its most rudimentary fashion. The option to preserve your game state at the end of the game is now in place, and if you do this and start a new game, you are given the option of going the New Game Plus route. You can start a regular new game if you want, of course. Right now, NG+ preserves your ability scores only, but there will be more to it than that.
I'm really feeling the wind in the sails right now. Let's see what I can get done in the upcoming week.
Until next time!
