Progress Report

I've been working on the Evelyn redesign for slightly more than a week now, and I'm happy to report that I'm nearing the end of it. I finished the most significant challenge, her dark secret, yesterday. I'm almost at the end of her script. Once that is done, I will do a quick pass across the entirety of the game's script to deal with small bits of stray dialogue that refers to her old story.
When all the rewrites are complete, I will do a test run through the game to see that it all still works. With that out of the way, I will release the update. I don't think all this should take more than a few days.
Overall, I'm pretty pleased with how this new Evelyn ended up. The dramatic highs and lows are mostly intact, just with slightly different beats to them. The code hasn't really changed, which means all your saves should (without actually having tested this yet) be fully compatible.
I'm looking forward to diving back into 0.33, as I'm sure most of you are too. Getting this update finished has taken too long, and the Evelyn redesign definitely didn't help. Fingers crossed this is the last real obstacle this game will ever face before its completion.

It's complicated. She's living with you for practical reasons while she awaits getting married to someone else, but that's just scratching the surface of what's going on.
2020-10-14 04:38:13 +0000 UTCOk, so granted I haven't been following the Discord servers but what exactly is the rewrite? Like is she now a childhood friend instead or something like that? I was kinda hoping you would tell us this in the change log so that we know what to expect.
