Important Update (please read this!)

I have some bad news to share. Yesterday, I was contacted by the Patreon Trust & Safety team. They had become aware that Long Live the Princess features content that is not allowed as per their Community Guidelines. While they were kind enough to simply email me about it without suspending my account or closing the game's Patreon page, the message was clear: Remove the offending content or get suspended/banned.
Honestly, I have been prepared for this for quite some time, so it's not a big shock nor a particularly massive challenge. Still, it has some ramifications that I believe it is important that you all are aware of:
1. Within the next day or so, I will remove all download links to the game from the Patreon page. If you still need to download it, do it now. This is a temporary measure to keep my account from being suspended while I work on a more permanent solution.
2. I will start rewriting Evelyn's storyline and will give her an entirely new background. Please keep reading for more information about what this actually means for the game. I expect this rewrite to take about a week or so.
3. Once the rewrite is done, I will re-upload the game to Patreon with the modified Evelyn. Once this is done, I expect Patreon's Trust & Safety team will be satisfied and move on.
Let's talk about Evelyn for a minute.
You all know what the issue is with her and why Patreon contacted me. This was a long time coming. Anything hinting at sexual relations between family members will have to go, which has enormous consequences for her story since it relies so much on this concept. As a result, I intend to fully rewrite her background, story, and puzzles to explore a different theme that is acceptable within Patreon's guidelines. The central theme with Evelyn is, in my opinion, forbidden sexual attraction. I want to keep this theme even after the rewrite. I also want to make her new incarnation equally as exciting and naughty as she was before, just with a new twist.
I don't see any reason to change any other content than Evelyn's.
I have absolutely no interest in doing a name replacement like so many other adult game devs do. The game you download on Patreon will, even after this change, be a full, satisfying story without requiring any shady third-party patches. In fact, I hope it will increase the game's replay value for long-time fans since there will be so much new in Evelyn's story. You have all put your trust in my ability to deliver before. I only ask that you put your faith in me again for this. This isn't a welcome change to the game, but I'm going to make damn sure it's an enjoyable one regardless.
As part of this process, I'm going to become a little more careful in the future. I might delete comments on Patreon and Discord that I think could be harmful to the game's development. Please avoid posting anything here that Patreon might find objectionable.

For those subscribing to me at the $10 level and above, I have to apologize for not posting one of my longer posts/articles this month. I was planning to write one yesterday, but then this whole mess got dumped into my lap, which obviously ended up taking all my attention. I will make up for this later.
I also have to apologize for this getting in the way of the development of version 0.33. That version will have to remain on hold while I rewrite Evelyn's story, for obvious reasons.
I'm sorry that this happened and will strive to make it as painless as possible. With some luck, you might find yourself enjoying the new version of Evelyn more than the original. One can only hope.

2020-10-03 13:48:54 +0000 UTCThis whole incest ban is so dumb as it's basically just a red line that the porn industry has drawn for itself - in order to avoid attaining the image that the industry is destructive to society - while legally/morally there is absolutely no basis to forbid actors or computer-generated models to *play the role* of incestuous characters. I mean, if you deem that illegal, than there couldn't be any movies showing any kind of criminal acts ... nobody would ever be allowed to be shot/murdered in a movie, for instance, as this is an illegal act. That being said, it *is* Patreon's policy regardless, so you have to stick to it. I in your place would develop two versions of the game; the alternate version to distribute off Patreon (not just a "relationship-denominator-patch", but a distinct different version of the game), if only to silently protest against this ridiculous ban, which shouldn't affect anyone's creative work.

Don't know if that would still be a violation but just a thought.

It can be forbidden in many ways, and it's the obstacle that makes it interesting. I feel sorry that you have to do a rewrite when you are so close to the finish line, but I am looking forward to seeing what you will make out of it!

2020-10-02 19:09:22 +0000 UTCThat particular puzzle is going to get slightly rearranged, and the context will be different. While the difference in characterization will be huge, the actual changes to story structure will be almost non-existent. That's my main priority when rewriting Evelyn.
2020-10-02 04:27:32 +0000 UTCSad thing is I like most of the story, but I saw this coming months ago. Its funny in a way, several authors have been using landlord/Land lady to get around it. It reads like garbage since most authors don't seem to be able to come up with a decent story without incest involved. It's why I like Phillygames and DRpinkcake. They both can tell great stories have cool sex scenes and don't need to worry about Patreon's rules.

The real pain is obviously Evelyn's big secret in terms of the MC and her birth. Although some creative reimagining could preserve those scenes as well

It's just suck so much, since Evelyn was one of my favorite character, and that fetish is my favorite. Having to change your work because of Patreon... it's pratically heart breaking. So much time and effort, and then one day they come and fuck everything:/ Well, of course I belive in you to write something good, and I'm not going to stop my pledge. It will juste not be the same. I can understand why you don't want just a patch. And it's on your credit (don't know if that expression exist in english :P). Well, anyways, good luck...
