Progress Report

Oho, it's another week? You know what that means. 

Yup, it's another progress report. Luckily, this one is more uplifting than the last one. Progress this week has been remarkably good, so much that I have finished all the renders for the sex scenes in 0.32 and have written the main path through these scenes with AI's help (more on that later). In fact, I have now officially started creating renders for the big climax of this update, your meeting with Princess Selena. There will be a lot of complex, technical shots in this scene, so I'm not sure if all my ideas will survive meeting the reality of technical limitations. Then again, I often find myself positively surprised when I turn ideas into reality, so who knows?

As of right now, there are only 10 days left of the month. Will I be able to finish 0.32 by then? Well, that's a tough question. I'm more optimistic this time than I was last week, but there's still a lot of work left. On the other hand, I now have a few weeks off from my regular job, which leaves more time for LLtP. Naturally, I have to consider my mental health and take some real, actual time off, but I'll try to save that for when the update is done if I can. 

So, unless you're active on Discord, you might be wondering about that mention of AI above. AI stands for Artificial Intelligence, which means that a computer is basically pretending to be intelligent. Just over a week ago, I stumbled across an AI system that completely blew my mind, and I've been kind of obsessing over it ever since. That system is called AI Dungeon. I can't recommend it strongly enough if you're interested in text-based storytelling, roleplaying, or even (gasp!) porn. That's right, it produces written porn of quite astonishing quality, covering any kink or fetish you might imagine, with no exceptions. I'm still flabbergasted at the quality of its writing. 

So how does it work? It works by first letting you create a story with a simple but powerful interface, and then it uses its AI to fill in any blanks and make a story out of your meager inputs. As I said, I'm obsessed with this thing. It's been years since I've seen anything this impressive. 

But hey, don't take my word for it. In fact, re-read the above paragraph. That's right, the one that starts with "So how does it work?". I didn't write any of it. AI Dungeon did after I fed it this post. It's not kidding either, because I honestly haven't been this impressed with a piece of computer software for years. One caveat, though: If you want to get the most out of it, you need to use the Dragon module, which has to be enabled through the site's settings. Dragon is only available with a subscription, though there's a 7-day trial that I strongly recommend giving a shot. If you go for the non-subscriber solution, you will be using another engine called Griffin, which is still quite impressive while not anywhere near as good as Dragon. Make sure to turn off the NSFW filter and use scenario 6 for your adventures if you want to use it for porn.

I wrote two of the latest scenes for LLtP through AI Dungeon's dragon module and let it come up with suggestions for what the various characters would say. Often, I would override it, but some of its suggestions remain entirely verbatim or with some modifications by myself. It's nothing revolutionary for LLtP, and you won't notice any difference when playing. Still, it made it more fun for me to write. Additionally, AI Dungeon came up with a dialogue topic that I wouldn't have otherwise written, which added a considerable dose of humanity to the MC, grounding the story before the climax. As such, I'm glad I used this approach this time because if I hadn't, that bit of dialogue would never have been written.

Anyway, that's enough about AI Dungeon. I just had to get it off my chest and tell people about it. You guys know me, and I don't recommend stuff very often, so I guess that says a lot about my opinion of this thing.

Now then, it's time for me to go back to rendering a certain princess. Things are about to get quite hairy for the poor MC.
