It's Okay Not to be Okay Episode 2

It's Okay Not to be Okay Episode 2

I gotta say, my first - and so far only - relationship started off a lot like this. The other person was very obsessive, manipulative, and was possesive to the point that I wasn't allowed friends, I could barely speak to my family over the phone, and I was not allowed more than five minutes alone. I ended it over the phone from a different state for fear of the person trying to find me. It affected how I saw myself, and it made me question my ideals and my thoughts on how a relationship should be. It's not healthy. It's not cute. It's not a fluffy kind of relationship. That relationship ended over three years ago and I'm still trying to recover from it. I'm still afraid to be another relationship. I understand the character in the show needs therapy, but other people should not have to suffer in the meantime. I really like your reactions because you don't watch it with a shallow mindset. You see the issues and you adress them, and that's something I really appreciate. It's disturbing when I hear people say this kind of relationship is cute or hot or whatever, cause it's not. If they've been in that kind of relationship, they'd understand. Okay, I'm done with my rant lol. Can't wait for your reaction to the next episode!

No one likes her in the beginning. Stick with it though! I really love this show and of course you hit it right on the head...things get more complicated as it goes on. Some great characters haven't been introduced yet. Mental health in the US is still so lacking. My heart really goes out to those living in other countries where the care is even worse. Thank you for everything you do! My daughter has autism and it was a big struggle in the early days. I emphasized self advocacy and self-care with her. She found a therapist and does weekly zoom sessions now as she attends USC. So proud of her!!!
