are you aware why bts might want to come/were willing to go on the show (and why seventeen was there and txt was mentioned) and who the panel of producers and performance directors are? and why the contestants are all bighit/belift lab trainees? this is not just happening willy-nilly. https://iland.weverse.io/cast (hitman bang, bts, pdogg and son sung-deuk made bighit music into what it is today - they’re why hybe exists today.) i’m asking all this because i can’t remember you reacting to the information that was given in the first couple episodes, when the producers were introduced. the subs might have rushed by in the blink of an eye, idk. i’m just curious if you’re aware of the overall context of the show. also, please ignore this, if you know all of this^ already. and the next episode is not boring at all, if you actually care about the creation process of enhypen. i enjoyed watching every episode. 🤷♀️

It is getting more and more common for idol groups to last longer and to still perform well into their thirties and in some cases forties it is still rare. So the younger they debut them the longer they will profit off of them, before and still it’s thought that being an idol have an expiration date and I think that’s why many idols branch off into variety shows,actress/actors,fashion and many other things to keep relevant and a successful career should music not continue to work out. The seven year curse is a great example many groups disbanded after 7 years and went on to focus more on different things while releasing music occasionally usually as a solo act but never to the extent or the popularity as when they were in a group. So I see the thought is why debug say someone who is 25 when in 7 years they’ll be 32 and a lot of idols tend to branch into difficult things at that point when debuting someone at say 16 in 7 years they’ll be 23 and may renew their contract.

I was peak ARMY when I watched it back in the day and even BTS didn't save it for me. xD It's still better than the last one tho. But also I kinda get it, they had to really hammer home those finalists, ppl were supposed to start forming serious parasocial bonds with them and they did!

2023-11-16 16:13:55 +0000 UTCWhat they said with “this will be my last chance of becoming an idol” is kinda sort of true specially if they’re over 20… which is so sad but the reality of Kpop it they debut them so young … is like if you’re over 23 you’re no longer eligible 😣 which is so sad. If you look at the new groups coming out now the oldest is like 21 and the average is like 18 😭
