Progress Report

It's time for yet another progress report. How many does this make now? *Checks quickly...* Huh, 61 if the tag counter on Patreon is correct, and I haven't missed a week since I started doing these.
Last week, I told you about how I was working on the Fairy Queen vision puzzle. Well, I'm not quite finished with that yet, but I decided to keep things interesting for myself by diving into renders for a while. Right now, I'm almost done with a sizable quantity of new images for a new scene with Samarra. She's integral to the upcoming storyline and needs to be handled early, so I'm taking care of her part first. Besides, she's been neglected for a while. Considering how few people think of her as their favorite girl, she deserves something to turn things around. If I have planned things out correctly, people should hopefully start to like her much more over the coming months. Like all the other women in LLtP, she has layers to her personality and her motivations.
I'm also trying to improve her first scene in the game. As things stand, that scene is one of the ugliest, but that comes from it also being the first scene with vaginal sex that Long Live the Princess ever had. I've learned a lot since then. Now, before you get the impression that I'm completely revamping the scene, that's not the case at all. I'm merely improving the animation and the lighting (slightly). I don't want to change anything else right now, despite knowing that I could do it much better these days. Sometimes it's best to let things lie. The only exception is the animation. The old scene had only two frames, and that's hardly an animation at all. I'm now aiming for 6 frames instead, which is more than most scenes in this game get.
Anyway, that's it for now. I hope to have finished up a lot of this stuff by next week, and then we'll see what else I can squeeze in before the month is over. Time flies surprisingly fast.

2019-09-23 00:34:40 +0000 UTCYou'll be pleased to know that I took a second pass at handling Samarra's pubic hair, and by changing some of the physical attributes of the pubes themselves, I got them looking much better. No more grey pubes for Samarra.
2019-09-21 16:05:56 +0000 UTCThe problem with the current lighting in that scene is that it's too sharp, and that's what I'm fixing. Apart from that, I'm making only minor adjustments to the scene. The important part is the animation. The rest I can live with, even if I never return to tweak this scene again in the future.
2019-09-20 04:34:48 +0000 UTCI just looked at that scene again today, and textures and details are kinda off, and they sure don’t compare to the Fae, just for an example. I personally like Samarra very well, hell, she goes around her tent naked, so she definitely has her place in my mind.

2019-09-19 22:40:17 +0000 UTCIt's a confusing rather than enlightening update - as you say you want to fix the lighting, and this >is< a trick of the light as you tell us, you might do it now ... or you don't improve that scene now at all about the animation and frame rate, and rather progress with the story and redo >all< of that first scene when things calm down and the story is complete, right? I can't see what you refer to as "ugliest" otherwise ...

2019-09-19 21:17:56 +0000 UTCI know what you mean, but her pubic hair is indeed black. It's just a trick of the light that makes it look grey in that particular scene. I haven't done anything about that since that would require a major reworking of the lights in the scene. It's something to consider for when the story is done and things start to calm down, for sure. But yeah, I agree that it's not ideal that her pubic hair looks like it's the wrong color, even if it's actually not.
2019-09-19 17:46:36 +0000 UTCI revisited the Training Grounds recently and I have to say it makes you wonder why her hair is pitch-black, but her pubic hair is grey of the same color as her jacket's buckles ... it looks mightily artificial in its texture, so I hope we're talking about the same "ugly" stuff to improve and not a detail to "let lie" ... nothing else to complain about this scene or Samarra in general 🖖🏿
