Callie!
Wow, that was undoubtedly more exciting than when we ran the poll in 2018. Back then, Belle threatened to run away with a victory early on, but she was quite suddenly overtaken by Primrose who kept a sizable lead for the rest of the contest.
This time, however, things were a little evener. Well, Callie did take the lead early on, but several other contenders threatened her on numerous occasions. Belle, in particular, kept biting at Callie's heels. Nell had a poor start but eventually managed to sneak up behind the two leads for a surprising third place, though she almost seemed like she might jump ahead and win at one point.
Primrose, the winner of last year's poll, just couldn't keep up this year.
The final rankings look like this:
1. Callie
2. Belle
3. Nell
4. Evelyn
5. Primrose
6. The Fairy Queen
7. Sister Agnes
8. Samarra
9. Erato
9. Leanan Sídhe
The final two spots are shared since they got an equal number of votes.
I personally believe that Callie got the win in no small degree because she's at the most exciting stage of her story right now, which keeps interest in her high. She might not rank quite as high next year, but you're all welcome to prove me wrong.
I have a few thoughts about the bottom rankings as well. Sister Agnes is an obvious one. We've barely seen anything of her yet, so this poll wasn't really fair towards her. Erato is alien in both looks and behavior, making her hard to relate to (which is the point). The Leanan Sídhe, while a looker, is kind of creepy, and rightfully so. Samarra is cold and aggressive while at the same time, seemingly not looking for romance. Also, we haven't gotten to flesh out her story the way I want to yet, but I don't think that's a significant factor. In short, I do see why the girls at the bottom of the list ended up there.
As promised, you all get a custom render of the winner, so enjoy! Grandmaster backers will get a 4K version of the image in a few minutes.
Until next time!
