Progress Report

I've been back to work this week, though I'm still in a somewhat reduced shape from normal. No worries though, because I've been adding a feature to Long Live the Princess that I've wanted to add for a long time. It's fully implemented and tested already, but I'm going to do a lot more testing of it over the coming weeks to make sure it doesn't break anything.
This new feature is a brand new town map. The way it will work is that clicking the map button will bring up the map you already know while you're in the wilderness, but if you're in town, you'll get a town map instead. Some areas you'll navigate in the old way (the areas around the town hall in particular), but in most other cases you'll now need to bring up the map instead. This will reduce menu clutter considerably and will make the game feel far more professional.
With this out of the way, I'm now free to move ahead with the main story progression for this update, but since I haven't actually started working on that part yet, I'll save the details about that for next week's update.
In the meantime, $20 patrons can expect to see the full version of the town map shortly. The version seen in the game will actually be slightly cropped from this one so those of you supporting me at that level will see more of the map than other players will.
It feels great to get this feature out of the way. It's been hanging over me for a good while. I've wanted to squeeze it into other updates, but I've never had enough time to do it justice. While it's not new story content and certainly not a new sex scene, I hope you guys will appreciate it as much as I do.
Until next time!

Yeah, it's been a long time coming. The wilderness map has been around for a while, after all. The town map was intended to be added just after I was finished with that one, but it didn't end up that way.
