Live and learn. This month I tried to shake up my routine a little by doing most of the writing before I did the majority of the renders. The results were... not impressive. In fact, I got almost complete writer's block right away, and no matter how much I kept staring at the keyboard, it wouldn't let up.

So I'm back to my old routines, which means doing almost all the renders before I do the writing. For some reason, this makes me way more inspired and motivated than writing first.

I have created several different scenes so far and am hard at work at the final one for this update. Most of these still require rendering, but that's something I can do at night while I sleep, so no biggie. I'm pleased with how these scenes are turning out, though I suspect that I'm going to be tweaking Nell's progression a lot over time, moving things around and modifying details.

Two weeks to go until this update has to be out. I feel like I have things under reasonable control. The renders are the really unpredictable part of the equation because there's no guarantee that the ideas in my head are even possible to make look good. In fact, that happened with one of my ideas for a camera angle in a scene I posed yesterday. It looked horrible from one of its alternate angles (oh yeah, it's that kind of scene), so I ended up having to try something else, and that might not be such a bad thing since it forces me to think outside the box. The result is a kind of camera angle I don't think we've seen before in this game, and that's all I'll say about that for now. ;)

Anyway, there's not much else to tell, and I need to get back to work on these renders.
