So for BURN IT UP : G-GROUP I understood Chen RenYou struggle because I also part of my body who as much as I practice that don't listen especially if I have to move faster, it's just habits who die hard. 😂 Also Renyou may have been in his head a bit at some point, he actually had it hard during that time because rumors about him surfaced saying he had a messy private life including cheating/playing with girls' feelings etc. A lot of viewers saw that and didn't vote for him, were also terrible about him on social media. However, the person who posted the allegation about it ended up apologizing to him saying she didn't verify the authenticity of everything she got. (Of course they did this after all the damages were done). You saw the elimination so i can tell about it, he was eliminated so he responded to them on his IG. Because of all the hate he got, he had to go see a therapist during BOYS PLANET so also during this mission. There were some mistakes but loved G-GROUP especially Xuan Hao (he was in the survival show YOUTH WITH YOU 3) , Kei (from a Japanese group call EDAMAME BEANS), Yutaka ( was stage actor for Fushimi Yuzuru a character from the game/anime Ensemble Star) and I will just get mad at one thing, it's MNET cutting Yutaka part of the bridge, one part that was SO GOOD. They did this to one of my favorite in PRODUCE X101 too and it's so upsetting Someone responded about why Sheng Yang have an eye patch, I will just add, often MNET don't tell you about the trainees being sick or hurt so you didn't miss anything about it. Also about this subject, for example, the vocalist who had a hard time in DANGER K-GROUP aka Ichan was sick that day but they never mentionned it, some people like Ollie or Ma Jing Xiang got 0 stars at the STAR LEVEL TEST only because they were sick and couldn't perform the evaluation, some trainees couldn't perform HERE I AM because they were sick too so they didnt even get fancam (which fans needed to stream because you know the TOP9 could choose theirs team members for this mission). A lot of trainees ended up sick from time to time in BOYS PLANET K-GROUP ; Don't have much to say about them, they revolved their issue well and overall their performances was really good. Just wanted to add the fact that the young trainee who had no confidence is actually a child actor so maybe his company might have pushed him to do that? Definitely agree on the part where you talk about how hard it is to go up in front of experts. When I watch them singing in front of the masters, I remember in middle school when for music class, we had to sing in duo in front of the teacher, it was so hard. I didn't mind K-GROUP winning, both did great DANGER : - G-GROUP Glad Yugeng and Yangjun talked it out together and it got better, both side were understable (one wanted more support, the other was just too stressed), we love seeing good communication and conflict being resolved. Stand out for this performance were definitely Yugeng and Yuto for me, Yugeng carried vocally and Yuto is such a good performer? Especially with his facial expression, it's a shame they didn't show him more in the audition part since they cut shorter only focusing on Keita when it was Osaka team auditionning. You could see the team effort, loved it - K-GROUP Like I pointed out, Ichan who did a lot of mistake was sick that day. Seunghwan definitely carried the performance on his back even if there were others goods part. It would not be a surprise for MNET to use autotune to correct a stage, it's actually happened in QUEENDOM 2, some global viewers were selected and had a ZOOM call to watch the stage in real time since they would have to vote after, the thing is, the performance from the ZOOM had some cracks but when the broadcast version was out, the crack weren't noticeable The result for this one got me upset, firstly I don't get how Ichan could win against Yangjun, yeah both did mistakes but I definitely liked Yangjun more and also because as much as I love Seunghwan, it's suck in my opinion that one result can make a whole team win. I know it was because of pandemic and they couldn't have public but I wish they would have kept GIRLS PLANET 999 system were the winner are decided by the masters, it wasn't biased at least and it was a total score. That's also why I love PEAK TIME, people who win are decided by experts before everything else. Also, someone mentionned it but some Koreans tend to vote for Koreans trainees a lot more (you just have to see on the elimination the difference of koreans vote for a korean trainee and a global one). For example, in my opinion, the LOVE ME RIGHT groups score should have been tied way more and I did disagree about Jay/Haruto losing especially with a large gap BACK DOOR : - K-GROUP Don't have much to say on them, they were good - G-GROUP So the Krystian situation, I didnt talk about it on the comment of Episode 3 because I wanted to put everything in one section, it's easier for me. I know someone said it wasn't Evil Edit, I personally think it is, at least some parts were. For the part in Episode 3, several people pointed out about the cuts MNET did here and there (there are videos on social media about that), also it was basically confirmed by multiples eliminated trainees, they actually stepped up about the situation after being out of the show (they must have seen all the hate Krystian got). Lin Shiyuan talked about it in a live stream saying : "Krystian came to us and was sad. We wanted to calm him down because we know his character wasn't going to change because of one episode, he was basically translating". Yugeng also talked about it several times, he said “Krystian is a very good and a very nice person I hope everyone can look at him separately from the program”. Another one is Chen Liang. They confirmed he translated at some point but seem like MNET cut it. For this episode, thank lord you also reacted at the master commentary about the "feminine" part, knew I could trust you, I got so mad. You can be feminine and also strong/Charismatic like??? Even some STAYs stepped up when they saw this. The thing, it's worse because Krystian actually got bullied in school for similar reason, people thinking he was too feminine. It's so annoying For the part after, this is where i dont think there was as much as editing, Krystian asking to keep the part can be understable (even Daeul wanted to keep his part), the way he talked wasn't the best but at least he let Ricky have it. The part of the training was so weird, honeslty it's normal for Krystian to ask about the position and formation, he got a new position also why they always put those type of music to make it seem so tense 😂 Still you can see they are no bad blood in the team at the end of the day, also teamword especially in those situation can be hard, I think if you learn from this that's good. I prefer the K-GROUP better for the performance, but most of the members in G-GROUP were really good, I liked Ricky/Krystian/Jianyu here HOT SAUCE : - G-GROUP Ollie and Osuke are the cutest, in my opinion they carried the stage, I also kind of liked Cai Jin Xin, he visually caught my eyes 😂 - K-GROUP Park Hanbin is the leader of WAKEONE trainees so I feel like because he already knew how to lead, it went well. It's help to have experience in it because there are trainees who ended up being leaders for the first time and you know sometime you struggle a bit if you don't know how to lead properly. I personnally like how he take everyone individually to correct mistakes or littles details, it's better than practicing X100 but making the same mistake X100 too. It's sad Donggun made mistakes but Toui also struggled with this part, this part isn't easy at all. Donggun vocal isnt the best but I can say he is an amazing dancer. Jihoo is also someone I really like. Doha get better and better just like Mingyu To end my long comment ( I write too much sorry) I will say, BOYS PLANET really doesn't highlight a lot of G-GROUP trainees enough in my opinion, because the difference if you watch G-GROUP trainees in others survivals they went on and this one, it's Day and Night. Some of them definitely shined more on their past survivals they went on like Anthonny in PRODUCE JAPAN, Hiroto (PRODUCE JAPAN + CHUANG 2021 where he ended up in final but didnt make it), Wumuti (UNDER NINETEEN), Yugeng know as Crayon in Youth with You 3. People pointed out on social media but when it's come to screentime you kind of have the Japanese who are mostly erased/rarely show (minus some like Haruto, Keita, Takuto and you have Anthonny/Hiroto who survive thank to their old survival show fans), Chinese trainees you don't see them much minus Zhanghao, some highlight of Zihao at the start of BOYS PLANET and otherwise the others popular one get some bad edits

love your take on the show, followed you to patreon right after seeing your recap on youtube. looking forward to watch other episodes again with you.

I totally agree with you!! Although I think for the fan voting between Hoetaek and Jay the bias comes not from Korean vs global favoritism but because hoetaek already has such a large existing fanbase. Obviously when you put an existing idol against a trainee there will be some biased voters.. which is why its not that fair of a voting system to begin with but oh well. I'm really rooting for Haruto and Jay for their future activities

Another recommendation would be to watch the top 9 ranked at the end of each episode to understand the overall construct.

MrDorndusk

Ohhh i loved that! Im still pissed they included that terrible "prank" instead of showing this which was far more entertaining and had no risk of offending people.. But it's mnet what can we do

Honestly, I feel like Haruto and Jay were robbed. I have the opinion that some (not all) K-voters are more likely to vote for the Korean member than the global member. I have seen it throughout this whole show and other shows with voting systems. I love Hoe Tak and Pentagon to death, but I feel like Jay did a little better. And Haruto is an ace and deserved to win this part. This is just my opinion, though.

Please watch this video: https://youtu.be/sLtCYwnpWn4 before episode 5. In episode 5 when they enter the room and introduce themselves they enter in pairs and in the video you can see how each pair was formed.

Wow, happy you uploaded next episode so fast! Looking forward to next ones :D Sung Hanbin is already a dance teacher. He worked as one before the show :) Dw K vs G is coming to an end very soon! It wasn't really fair to begin with, since G-team had naturally harder learning curve as most of them dont speak fluent korean (or no korean at all for that matter). How can you give better performance while singing in a language you dont/barely know? But such it be with survival shows... Episode 5 is elimination episode, with some variety stuff in-between. If u want to avoid unnecessary time sink I would advise to watch it at x1.25 or 1.5 speed (and have normal speed when they show the fun stuff), only if u want ofc. Do you have a schedule for episodes or you just film it as you go? Regarding your last point: Arguably performance aspect (showing abs, facial expressions, interactions with an audience, or just being handsome af) is more important in kpop than pure vocal/dance talent. This is not to say vocal or dance are not important or that hard work does not matter. I think those who work hardest in those aspects will have the most chances to debut. But Kpop is incredibly visually-focused medium. Whether its stages or MVs, fans are far more biased to vote for eye-catching stuff, even if someone is belting their heart out in the background.

What we hear in the final broadcasted versions aren’t always live vocals and even less so unedited ones, which I have my opinions on, but have just accepted for Mnet survival shows. Some things are live and only adjusted in terms of volume etc but other parts just aren’t. K vs G is over after the upcoming elimination :) Btw the Korean text at the start is just info about (indirect) advertisements in the show, so you didn’t miss out on anything by not being able to read it haha

Hi. You were asking about the one with the eyepatch. He's from Taipei, Taiwan. All I know is that he was injured while practicing, but I don't remember how long he work it for. I did like Peak Time, but this show just hits different. They are there to compete against each other, but they also want to see each other succeed. It's so endearing to see the help and comfort they give each other!
