March is here, and so is the first progress update for version 0.7. Let's see...
I've been taking it a little easy this last week, after pushing myself perhaps a little too hard for a while. I'm feeling refreshed and energized now, however. So far I have created a brand new girl for 0.7, the most unique-looking one I have made so far. Making her look right was tricky, but I think I've got it. I'm not going to say too much about her in this update, but I can reveal that she represents the first part of the Fey Court goal that you all helped make happen. While the game so far has made only one explicit and brief mention of the Fey Court, this new girl is far more substantial. I'm always nervous when creating new characters since I have no idea how well they'll be received, so I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys think once I decide to show her off. I will most likely give $20 patrons an early preview very soon, so keep a lookout for that.
The arrival of this new girl will also require a series of brand new environments as well as a somewhat new game mechanic. I have made several early renders for a couple of such locations already. For the first time in this game, you will be able to travel outside of the town itself, exploring the nearby forest and similar environs.
I'm hesitant to say much more about this update yet since I'm still so early in development for it, but it's definitely looking to be the most significant change in feel and locale for Long Live the Princess so far. I really hope you'll all like it.
That's it for now. I'll hopefully have lots of new stuff to share next week.
