Mission to the Arctic Circle | Part 1 (Trainhopping across Scandinavia)
Added 2024-08-14 14:01:43 +0000 UTCEver since I discovered that it was possible to travel by freight across Europe, I’ve had this route in mind. Three vast countries with breathtaking landscapes, few people, and excellent rail networks—it seemed like the perfect combination for a trainhopping adventure. However, with excellent railroads come strict regulations, and riding freight trains is not something they will have a laugh about. That’s partly why I postponed this trip so many times. I wanted to prepare everything perfectly, ensuring I wouldn’t have to sell a kidney to pay off fines if I got caught.
Last June, it finally happened. We set off from West Germany, with the plan of catching a train to Sweden, then traveling through to Norway, with the goal of reaching the northernmost point of continental Europe. A journey of 3,600 kilometers. It had been a long time since I’d traveled such a distance on a freight train, but I was eager to embark on this adventure.
In July, I was swamped and couldn’t edit any footage, so it wasn’t until August that I could start working on it. Now, I’m hoping to release a new part every week. Thanks so much for your support, even when I’m not posting, I appreciate it!

2024-08-18 17:52:15 +0000 UTCThe Ruhr region is so underrated, really cool place with lots of history and interesting sites to visit. :) Been there a few times and will visit again for a few days in a few weeks while crossing the continent towards home. Will probably park up at the Landschaftspark with my camper like I've done before, one of my favourites.
