Deal with a Daemoness (Commission)

I think this one doesn't need too much preamble. It should stand alone without explanation, and if it doesn't, I didn't do my job right. Written as a stream commission.

Roseanna stalked around the summoning circle, eyeing the demon.

Deals with demons were a source of power. This daemoness in particular was a source of great power.

But you never, never trusted a demon. No matter what they said, or what they did, they were always out for you. Maybe in subtle ways, maybe in overt.

As long as she kept the demon in the circle, though, it couldn’t touch her. Its power was contained. The only thing that would come through is what she allowed, and she wasn’t about to be tricked by a demon like this one.

“So, what do you request?” it asked. The daemoness’s voice was sultry and smooth, like silk over a sharp knife.

“Simply, power,” Roseanna declared. “I know you have it in great sums, and I want it. I’m willing to bargain.”

The creature showed her teeth. It wasn’t a smile. “Power, hmmm? To do what?”

“I’m a sorceress.” She saw no reason to embellish. “I want more power to fuel my magics.”

“Ah, hmm. Simple power. Such a tricky, slippery little thing…” the creature considered for a moment, then nodded. “Fine. I shall double your might, in exchange for one simple thing.”

Roseanna saw the trap coming. It would seem tricky, but contain some secret catch. She’d ask for a day of Roseanna’s life, then steal the day she was born, or she’d ask to be told a word, then ask for Roseanna’s true name.

“What thing, demon?” she asked, cautiously.

“Only that you lose the ability to dress yourself,” the demon declared, eyes sparkling wickedly.

That was… interesting, certainly. “With what catch?” she asked. It was a blunt, simple question, but it could do no harm to ask. “Only you can change my clothing? Will you bind me in cuffs that only the wearer could remove?”

The daemoness smiled and shook her head. “No, silly thing. I will not impede on your clothing in such a way. Acquire a servant, or conjure one if you wish, and have them dress you for all I care.”

“I…” Roseanna considered, then decided. It was a tolerable deal, for the amount of power being offered. “I agree.”

DONE.”

The contract needed no more negotiation. Magic crackled through the circle, and Roseanna felt the energy playing off her fingertips. She was strong.

“And, one little thing…” the daemoness added, smiling.

Here it comes. What catch will I have to contend with?

“I have another offer for you.”

The sorceress hadn’t seen that coming, but she listened warily. “What offer might that be?”

“Your words, in Common,” the daemoness said. “Give me that language out of your head, and replace it with an infant’s babble.”

Narrowing her eyes, Roseanna considered it. She knew half a dozen languages. Giving up common would be an inconvenience, but only an inconvenience. “At what price?”

“Treble,” the daemoness said. “I will treble your current power.”

That would make her six times as strong as when she’d entered this bargain. It was too much to ignore, and Roseanna answered without consideration. “Done.”

Power crackled once more, as Roseanna found herself surging with newfound strength.

“Ba-ahba,” she started, before catching herself. Switching to Elvish, she said, “Fine, Demon. Our bargains are well met. I ban-”

“Wait,” the Daemoness said, shaking her head. “I have yet another offer.”

“I…” Roseanna knew she was going down a dangerous path. She’d already given up two things, how much more could she-

“For seven times your current power.”

“What is it?”

The daemoness laughed, a sound like tinkling bells. “Simple. I wish for you to lose control of that training which is given to infants. Lose your restraints.”

“I… you mean my potty training?” Roseanna asked, blinking in surprise.

“Yes,” the daemoness hissed. “Lose that control, and I’ll give you sevenfold your current power.”

That would be forty two times what she’d started with. She simply couldn’t say no.

“I accept-” she started, and the power began to crackle.

“Before you go,” the daemoness whispered. “I have… another bargain.”

Many hours later, Roseanna laid on her back. Her diaper was filling, but she barely noticed, too busy pressing her hand into the front of the sodden padding. Her eyes rolled back, tongue lolling out.

She was, perhaps, the most powerful sorceress in the world. Could she clear the fog of arousal and juvenile thoughts fogging her mind, driving her to rub harder, to ignore her dignity, then she would have been a scourge upon the world.

Laughing, the Daemoness lowered the summoning circle of her own accord. The mind that had kept it up was too distracted to restrain her any longer. She had another child for her collection.
