Getting in there

I’m trying to paint this in three sections basically. From right to left.

Here’s what I spent most of today looking at.

The far right thing is a Napkin crumpled up. Looks like a poop. I like that. It also kind of looks like a pine cone. I’m indifferent to that.

Last night I watched an episode of Madmen called “the Suitcase.” It’s probably my favorite episode of that series. It takes place on May 25th so I rewatch it every year on or around that day.

The madmen theme brings me back to living in Reno and working as…I don’t even know what my job description was. I guess manual laborer. I was a manual laborer filling potholes and helping with maintenance on loaders and Peterbilts, and straightening rebar, and that type of stuff.

Then I was driving postmates at night and on the weekends.

It was a pretty stressful time but when I hear that Madmen music and think about it, it was the best time.

Then whenever I reminisce about that time or any time of life, I always think of the song “panbowl” by Sturgill Simpson, which then brings me back to another stressful time, but one that now seems like the best time.

Anyways.
