Progress on the Choir tier paintings I've been chipping away on. The underpinnings are done.
To give myself a little experiment with this project, I'm testing out how much of the toned ground to leave in the shadows.
This is a little in the weeds if you aren't painting with the grisaille method. But one of the secret tricks to this method is to leave the brown underpainting showing through when you add the color glazes in the shadow area.
I tend to go too opaque with the shadows when I'm working on the grayscale stage. Pretty much covering up the brown underpainting. For these ones I tried to leave it showing through in various degrees so I can compare the difference.

Those shirts I was working on are now available in my Threadless shop.
Threadless is a third party shop. I don't have any control over pricing and discounts. So your choir discount codes won't work on there. But the shirts are in there and I believe they are on sale.

I'm going to start adding what Patreon calls "loyalty rewards" for tiers in the choir. These are physical things that get shipped to you in the mail. Even international people I believe.
For Tenor and Alto members you'll get a sticker or a mini print for every three months that you're a member.
Soprano members will get a sticker or a mini print every three months and after 12 months you'll get a t shirt. I'm designing all those goodies right now.

Spring break is coming up and I'll basically be unemployed for two weeks. lol. I'm trying to figure out different ways of making money then. I was looking into doing my grotesque portraits at different art events. The only problem is that most of the good events have significant vending fees which would really suck to not make back. Or even to just break even on.
Anyways. I was talking to my friend about this and she told me I should try and do classes through zoom over the break.
I don't know if I have enough time before spring break to get one going. But I like the idea. Someone in the Choir chat was also asking about classes the other day. This could be a cool way to do it.
If I end up doing these online zoom classes, I'd like to give choir members a deal or early access to sign up, or that type of thing.
Let me know if you have any thoughts on this idea.
