I set up and lit my maquette.

I did the drawing pictured above.

I traced it and transferred it to the canvas.

Since the canvas is a more flexible surface than a wood panel, it picked up more of the graphite than I wanted it to. But it gave it a very loose abstract quality which I kind of liked.

I sealed the graphite in with some matte medium then started painting.

I'll be doing indirect painting on this. Meaning that I'll build up a grayscale version first then start adding color with transparent glazes.

That picture is a little shiny.

I'll be doing 4 of these paintings that I'll be doing for the Choir tiers. They're all 4x5 inches.

Happy March 2nd everyone

I'll be going to an opening at Copro gallery tonight to see some work by Ed Binkley. He does breathtaking work with colored pencils and I want to see them in person.

After that I'll be going to the Hive. Mostly because I haven't been there in a while and I want to see what I should bring to my residency space. I'll bring a little watercolor set up and do some painting. Sell some art hopefully.

I just remembered that I have to pay my rent there. Damn.

My favorite little detail from pulp fiction is how the waiter asks if people want their hamburgers "burnt to a crisp or bloody as hell."

Have Fun

Goodnight Sweeties
