The opening at the Dark Art Emporium went great. It was maybe the best group show I've ever been in. All the art was top notch, the turnout was great.
The response to my piece was very positive. Although I got very tongue tied and cringy whenever I'd talk about it.
There's a few people who have reached out to the gallery about purchasing the cave. But no one's pulled the trigger. A lot of the pieces sold.
I hung out with some friends and made some new ones. I did a video tour of the show so I'll post that for you soon. You can check it out on their website too.
It started raining as the show ended and it hasn't stopped.
Rain is a huge deal in LA. Other places like to make fun of us about it. Fair enough.
My brother is going to South America today for a month. His birthday is this month so we went to a restaurant to celebrate it last night.
I was riding with my parents and grandma and sister. We got a flat tire on the way so we had to call a tow truck and then take an uber to the dinner.
My brother was drunk on whiskey sours by the time we got there.
Today I'm just cleaning my room. I still had my whole set up for the cave painting in one corner: Big easel, table with pallet, and the clay maquettes on a table.
Then I had two other little tables set up for other little projects.
Then my main painting "home" area just cluttered with other little projects.
I just made a video where I had to use a lot of my sketchbooks so they are all stacked on the floor.
Then between those tentpole messes there's a ton of dirty clothes, empty La Croix cans, books, packaging, etc.
It's embarrassing and it was giving me anxiety so I had to handle it.
I like cleaning in the rain though. listening to classical guitar and Black Sabbath.
