This is my WIP for the Inner Landscape prompt this month.
I am participating in a group show in February. The theme has to do with the symbolism of the cave. So I've been drawing a lot of caves lately. And looking at a lot of artwork about caves.
My favorite painting that I keep looking at is Francisco Goya's Vagabonds Resting in a Cave.
I am also trying this new method of using molding paste as a ground.
The canvas for this painting was the failed Cardinal piece. I decided to try the molding paste thing on top of it.
I really like the surface that the molding paste creates. It's very smooth and takes away the rough canvas texture. I didn't get the molding paste as smooth as I wanted on this canvas.
So instead of doing the cardinal on it as planned, I'm killing two birds with one stone and doing a practice cave painting and using that for the prompt.
I'll probably do videos where I go deeper into both the molding paste and this cave painting.
I used the decalcomania technique for the texture in the cave for this painting.
There's going to be a lot more decalcomania in the near future as well.

Goya's Vagabonds Resting in a Cave
I'm writing this at a Starbucks right now. I took my grandma to get a perm and I have two and a half hours to kill. so I came to this Starbucks to try and get some work done.
I brought my own coffee from home, but when I go to Starbucks I feel obligated to buy a coffee, even though I'm pretty sure their policy is that anyone can just sit in the store. I just feel like it's an unwritten rule.
I had a gift card that ended up not having any money on it. I paid with real money. I gave a generous tip.
I ordered a tall iced coffee. They asked if I wanted sweetener in it.
I said, "no."
They asked for a name. I said, "Parker."
They made a tall iced coffee with sweetener in it for Arthur.
I finished the tall sweetened iced coffee for Arthur and snuck out to my car to get my regular coffee I brought from home.
I am become Arthur.
When I woke up this morning I had this very insightful revelation about something. I laid there for a minute it to really let it sink in. So that I'd remember it.
I have totally forgotten what it was.
Now I'm home and staring at my bed trying to remember.
It will come back when I least expect it.
Here's that meme I talked about yesterday. Trekell posted it.
