THE WARNING-'Amour' DEEP VOCAL ANALYSIS

Thanks PETER for steering me in this direction, that was fun! Let me know what you all think.

THE WARNING-'Amour' DEEP VOCAL ANALYSIS

Thanks Tim. Fun to see it broken down. I got to see them live in Chicago recently. They are indeed amazing singers and to know that they sing without any "assistance" made it all the more amazing.

This makes me wish I had songwriting talent. One of my friends got to see The Warning live recently. I'm so jealous! 💜💙

Thanks Tim. I love learning about all the little details I don't pick up on. Funny that the lyrics were inspired by a tiny scene from the movie Ratatouille. I agree with Peter that Revenant is an awesome song to look at. Beautiful vocal layering.

Thanks so much, Tim. I remember the day a few months after I found The Warning where I watched Amour something like 15-20 times in a row, in part to figure out what was going on with the harmonies. I watched both the Pepsi performance and the Teatro Metropólitan performance—watching both was helpful to see who was singing when. I figured out that low/high to high/low reversal that Dany and Pau do. Their voices blend so well—sister harmonies!—that in each case it really sounds like a single voice, so it seemed like Dany's voice (where the camera attention was) changed in character from one section to the other. Also, while I agree that Ale is singing low harmonies for most of the time, I think she is singing the haunting high vocals at the very end. It could be Pau, but Ale has such a beautiful head voice—for example, in Sinister Smiles and in Revenant. (BTW, you will LOVE breaking down Revenant. I will recommend it next.) Thanks for doing this! The Warning's harmonies are one of the (many) things I love so much about them.

Couldn’t agree more.

Yes! This is what I'm here for! My untrained ear does hear that beautifull things are going on, but sometimes just can't quite separate their voices. I really appreciate your detailed analysis! These ladies are just unparalleled in their ability to create heavenly harmonies.
