🔴These changes will affect NEW memberships purchased in the iOS app (starting November 2024)
I received an email from Patreon saying that in November 2024, new memberships purchased in the iOS app will be subject to Apple's 30% App Store fee.
This will not impact existing memberships at all. Apple's App Store fee only applies to new memberships purchased in the iOS app beginning in November 2024.
I don't know but I recommend new people who wanna join & support their fave creators on Patreon, not using iOS for that purpose, use the website or Android if you can, not sure if that's a solution but I don't think it's fair what Apple is forcing people to do.

I didn't even know there is a Patreon app on iOS lmao, call me old school but I always use the laptop.

2024-08-14 13:04:14 +0000 UTCI heard the news and was worried that it was going to affect all members (makes me glad to be an android user instead apple). Thanks a lot for sharing this info/update and hopefully there's enough backlash for Apple to undo their decision to charge an extra fee
