Hey everyone,
I am in full preparation mode for the upcoming NMM class this weekend, but I had a good session with this scythe from Typhus. This video is without comments though, and I won't manage it to add some due my vacation next week.
Regarding the painting process:
1. Its a very recommended approach to block in your reflections with offwhite first, very opaque. Play with the shapes of the reflections. Try to paint them not straight, add curves to them. Your results will be more organic.
2. Leave shadows between them. If needed, devide the highlights.
3. The play of colors can be swapped by any other, which you prefer. I choose browns very next to desat blues. It adds ground colors and sky colors, next to each other.
4. Experiment with saturation. You can vary within the blade with more saturated areas, and less saturated.
5. Don't focus on smoothness, rather on the play of light. Smoothness comes with repitition. First try to find something which looks interesting and credible. Spend more time into your creativity.
6. Have fun painting, regardless of what you paint.
7. Brush your teeth at least 2 times a day.
If you have questions about the process, keep bothering me.
Best Regards
Tamer
