Why Amazon? Mostly, it was due to our difficults with our original printer, and the eye-strangling costs of shipping to most of our readers. Being in Mexico turned almost every single book purchased into an international shipment, and the costs (due to the dismantling of the USPS and other postage services) were staggering for our readers. The pandemic didn't help either.
We also discovered that crowdfunding campaigns were limited for our country. Our original crowdfunder, Indiegogo, restricted some forms of payment, making it all very inconvenient.
So we decided to try with Amazon Print on Demand. We uploaded the book and waited to see if it looked good. And guys, we are absolutely floored. The printing is gorgeous, I'd dare say, even better than our original run.
What should you know before ordering?
1. For now we're offering the softcover only. Sure, you CAN purchase the hardcover apparently, but we're still waiting to receive our test hardcover to see if it looks okay and error-free. In a couple of weeks the hardcover should be approved to go live. Save yourself the hassle of having to return it if it has mistakes.
2. You can also buy the Kindle and the Comixology version.
3. Full disclosure: the 3rd book is very, VERY slightly smaller than the other t2o. We're sorry about this (we're picky about how our library looks!) but that was the most similar size Amazon offers.
4. The best news for you as the reader is the price. It's reduced from $25 to $22 for the time being. AND check it out! Shipping might even be FREE if you have Amazon prime! AWESOME!
5. Since we're not keeping any kind of stock we're not touching these books personally like the other ones. Amazon handles it all. We WILL offer signed and sketched books soon-ish, but of course, we will have to wait until they are delivered it to us, AND you will likely have to pay international shipping, because Amazon will ship it to us, we will sketch and sign them, then we mail them to you.
6. Yes, the hardcover will go live as soon as we have one delivered to check how it looks. I can't really tell you anything about the size or any other data for now.
7. This is a lucky number! Keep it in your pocket and rub it from time to time!
8. If you want to purchase the Amazon versions of Power Nap 1 and 2, they will go live soon. It's likely they will appear announced by Amazon, but it's better if you wait for my green light. Amazon doesn't let us test the printing before going live, unfortunately, so we're only announcing the books we already checked with our own eyeballs. There's a whooooole post about this too! Stay tuned!
ALSO:
9. If your Amazon doesn't show the free shipping (assuming you have Amazon Prime) or if the book shows as "temporarily out of stock" this means Amazon hasn't refreshed their status in your location. You may want to wait a few days and check again.
10. Keep your eyes peeled! Although we're not making a crowfunding campaign we're going to be pushing this book for a while. And we're going to have a fun thing (fun is when you get things for free haha)
