My parents knew about it and listened to it every once and a while but it was never on enough for me to get attached. so for most of my early childhood i listened to classic rock and pop. The time this changed was when I started high school which was in 2014, I was 11 since my school specifically started from grade 5 to grade 12. I used to catch the bus to and from school everyday and made friends who were much older then me, those friends introduced me to hip hop and I never turned back since. I remember the first few albums/ songs I listened to. they were GKMC, 2014 forest hills drive, NWTS and Dark sky Paradise. The crazy thing out of all these amazing albums Big Sean was my favourite artist all the way through 2014-15 since then I have delved deeper into the genre looking at albums that released before I was even born, and enjoying them just as much as more recent albums. fast forwarding to now some of my favourite artists are Cole, K.Dot, MF Doom, Earl sweatshirt, Vince staples, Freddie Gibbs, Kanye, and Denzel Curry. I am so glad that i found hip hop at that time and not later cause i would have some huge catching up to do.
