Just a quick update

There's a little movie that is going to be celebrating its 45th anniversary this spring and I make no promises but I would love to celebrate that in the same way I celebrated the 40th of Return of the Jedi ;-)

There is absolutely no need for HDR versions. They already look stunningly beautiful as is and you deserve a well earned rest after this.

2025-01-25 02:53:16 +0000 UTCYeah, I plan for those to be the last vesions. There may be some 3.X itterations like Jedi 3.1, with minor tech fixes but that's about it, I think. Perhaps an HDR version down the line somewhere but that would probably fall to someone else just using my work as a base, since I don't know the first thing about HDR grading and don't have the necessary equipment.

Once v3.0 of both A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back are released like v.3.1 of Return of the Jedi already has been, will those be the last ever versions of Despecialized that you make considering that they are the 4K UHD versions and there is no format or resolution that is better than that on the horizon currently? I cannot imagine an image quality looking better than 4K does. V3.1 of Return of the Jedi is stunningly gorgeous and for me personally the ONLY way I will ever watch that movie now for the rest of my life (unless of course Disney finally decides to do an official release) and given the blood, sweat and tears worth of effort you put into this project, I have no doubt that A New Hope and Empire will be on the same level.
