Wow I'm exhausted! February 2022 Update

February is close at hand. In fact, it starts tomorrow!  Woah!

As always, I wanna thank you all for your continued support. It means a ton to me. This time, I have many things to report. This is gonna be a big one, so let's cut the pre-ambles and get right into it.

January 2022 -- The Report!

As stated in the update from last month, these were my plans for January 2022:

As it turns out, I didn't touch programming this month. Not in the slightest. You may ask why, and the answer will be plain:

Now this, I uh. Yes. Very much. Anywhere from 1 to 4 hours dedicated to lineart daily. Sometimes more. I was exhausted at the end of each day hahahahahaha anyways here's the results

The Results: The Results

Ames presenting herself to comfort someone.

Self-Assessment: While the art itself is good, the intended expression does not come through at all. One would very well think she is angry. The contorted eyes meshing with the apparent strong flames are perhaps the great contributors. I think this is my worst picture of the month.

Amora's Happiness

Self-Assessment: Well, she does look happy ~ This was actually the last picture I had drawn this month -- so it's fresh from the oven. There's a few things I think I could add quality-wise, but overall I'm satisfied with the expression.

Bun being very herself.

Self-Assessment: Execution-wise, I think I did great here. It was definitely one of my good days. The expression is very strong and the line strength over depth is on-point.

Princess Caroline thinking about the facts.

Self-Assessment: I remember this coming from a one difficult day, so I'm happy about the results.

Daisy catching her beloved.

Self-Assessment: Idea-wise, expression-wise and execution-wise, I really love how this one turned out. It's one of my favorites for sure.

Introduction of Decibelle

Self-Assessment: Her face and head-size are complete nonsense, but otherwise I like how she turned out. Design-wise, she's a bit too plain and simplistic still, something I will address futurely.

Design of Kalvadon Novation

Self-Assessment: Aside from slight proportion issues, I quite like how he turned out as well.

Nancy and Lexa snuggled up on a cloud.

Self-Assessment: The expression of the lines are just amazing. Overall I love it. It's one of my favorites.

Ludaira sleeping in a comfy sock.

Self-Assessment: I love the idea, the execution could've used some more work -- especially Ludaira's head position and the relative size of the sock.

Nancy flying with a bunch of balloons.

Self-Assessment: This was one of my earlier drawings this month. I love the interactivity between the components and the expression.

Nancy singing.

Self-Assessment: This also was an early entry. I love the expression of each line.

Nancy at her barmaid job, cleaning a mug while sitting on her wing.

Self-Assessment: In particular, I love the depth on this one.

Nancy drawing her bow, The High Note

Self-Assessment: I like almost everything about this one. The problem is where the legs are at. It's certainly a mistake. One of the later entries.

Reese ~ !

Self-Assessment: Reese.

Reese ~ !!

Self-Assessment: More Reese ~

Reese ~ !!!

Self-Assessment: It's Reese again.

Reese under the moonlight.

Self-Assessment: The back leg may be a little too small :(

Riley puffing bubblegum.

Self-Assessment: This one was in the post last month, actually!

Riley looking in your direction.

Self-Assessment: Eye practice!

Riley flying high up in the sky.

Self-Assessment: Remake of an old drawing. I quite like how it turned out!

Riley relaxing.

Self-Assessment: It looks as comfy as the idea warrants. I love Riley's absentminded expression. The perspective is a little confused.

Squiggles be daydreaming.

Self-Assessment: Hands down my favorite this month. The shapes, expression, and overall language is as on-point as it could possibly be.

Trueform.

Self-Assessment: I think it's quite clumsily done on my part.

Trueform peeking behind a doorframe.

Self-Assessment: This one I do like. The head needed some work, methinks, but overall is good.

Trueform being cute.

Self-Assessment: A little clumsily executed but I like it.

Willow showing off why they call her the Witch of the Mallet.

Self-Assessment: This is my second favorite. There's a sense of reality in this one, and it does emphasize how enigmatic it is for the mallet to hold thusly on the tree branch.

In summary.

While quality still varied quite a bit between outputs, I do feel like my "minimum output" has gained quite a lot in consistency. Some very noticeable mistakes have been made near the end of the month, for sure. The last few days were extremely difficult to get myself to draw hahahahahahaha.

But hey that's about it! What have I learned? Honestly I do not know, but I'm gonna be letting those practiced earnings simmer as I let drawing of humanoid subjects mostly rest for the upcoming months.
