(ver. With Text) Team Azula Mushroom Parasitism (Avatar: the Last Airbender)
Added 2024-10-13 09:37:01 +0000 UTCAfter a long daytrip, Team Azula decides to take a rest amongst the idyllic scenery of the forest. Not having reached their destination yet, they are running short on supplies. To make their rations last, they forage for additional ingredients in the wild.
Ty Lee is not very knowledgeable with wild plants and mushrooms, so sending her out to forage for supplies is a gamble. As it turns out, this is what would later become their undoing.
The mushrooms Ty Lee found are a highly dangerous parasitic mushroom, capable of infecting humans and controlling their behaviour. Most of the time, the first symptoms occur within a few hours after ingestion of the mushrooms spores, the body becomes sensitive and tingling, almost itching sensations are spreading out from the head downwards.
By this point, the victim cannot be helped anymore. Soon, they will find themselves falling into a state of madness, unable to control their urges and growing new mushrooms out of several places in their bodies. These new mushrooms will, when fully grown, emit new spores that spread across the forest, populating it with more mushrooms that are waiting to be consumed by any other clueless victims that come strolling along.
