Hello everyone! 💜 We’re excited to share the latest render of our new animated blendshape test for Foxlo’s transformation into a giant blueberry! 🫐✨ This time, we decided to recreate the iconic moment from the 2005 movie when Violet realizes how badly her butt has swollen (due to the buildup of blueberry juice in her body) and turns around to find everyone staring in shock as her body continues to inflate. Oh yes, my Berries!
We wanted to amplify that look of fear and embarrassment in Foxlo’s expression, 😨😳 taking it even further than what we saw in the movie. As we’ve mentioned before, these tests don’t represent the final version of our project. They are previsualizations that help us better study the scene and capture the essence of the movie. This is cinema, gentlemen!!! 🎞️
For example, the Lumpas you see now will eventually be replaced by real actors, and we plan to integrate Foxlo’s real head with her 3D body, similar to how the now-defunct MPC studio created effects for the 2005 film. On the technical side, the animation and lighting were done in Blender, while the softbody effects were created in Houdini, as usual. 🎥
