Hello, dear berries! 🫐 To celebrate Valentine’s Day, ❤️ we’re excited to share the first render of our Foxlo inflation test, now with lighting and a Softbody effect! The best gift for this day! ✨
We want to clarify that this is not the final version, nor does it represent the definitive timing of the footage. These are experimental tests we’re conducting to refine the character’s acting and animation. 🎥 Fun fact: the sound effects in the first shot are taken directly from the 2005 movie, which serves as a key reference and inspiration due to its dynamic energy and tension.

On a technical level, the animation was created in Blender, while the Softbody effect was done in Houdini. 🖥️ In the shared screenshot, you can see where the painted pressure zones, which help us better convey the sensation of weight and liquid dynamics of the blueberry transformation. We will achieve it!

Afterward, we exported the animation in Alembic format from Houdini and re-imported it into Blender, where we applied the lighting and created the final render for this test. We’re sharing the shot from the film along with two different versions of the softbody effect: one more gelatinous and the other more stable. Let us know which one you prefer by leaving a comment.
