Added 2024-10-09 18:58:25 +0000 UTCHalloween is almost here and this October brings us one of the most monstrous creatures you will find at the Kandy Zoo! ๐๐พ Meet the Carnomarshmallow!
Here is its 3D version, which will be used in the short film and will also appear in the Depry series (seen from another scale it must be terrifying! ๐ฑ๐๏ธ). This creature lives in the Inventing Room, where there is an enclosure created specifically for them. It's yet another of Wally Wonky's hybrids that combines animal DNA with candy. ๐ญ๐งฌ In this case... did he combine a deep-sea fish with a marshmallow? You'll have to find out! ๐
The result we bring you has been completely modeled by hand in Blender and later textured in Substance (no need for Zbrush this time as it was a fairly simple model). ๐ฅ๏ธโจ It's a quite adorable character when its mouth is closed, but as soon as it opens... it becomes grotesque and repulsive! By the way, its favorite food is roast chicken, as you can see in the storyboard.
This is our first model of its species, and we will probably make 3 more variations. Though itโs highly polished, the model is still subject to changes! Our starting point was a moodboard we made from AI-generated proposals, selected the elements that we liked for the 3D model.
Lastly, Weโd like to add that this creature came from a discarded design for the 2005 Tim Burton's film created by Dermot Power, a living marshmallow that was eventually eliminated and scrapped. We made it even more grotesque!
