Freeway feat. Ricky Camilleri & Chris Chafin

Hosts of the once-defunct, recently-resuscitated 30 Years Later podcast Ricky Camilleri & Chris Chafin return to the factory floor with another brash, offensive, & totally great movie selection: Matthew Bright's 1996 black comedy 'Freeway'.

After some asides about Joanna Newsom and Joel Schumacher's 'Falling Down', we discuss Freeway and its gleefully sordid exploration of class and corruption within American institutions, the film's relationship to a whole host of 90s movies about teenage angst and rebellion, and Reese Witherspoon's powerhouse (and possibly career-best) performance.

..from being the butt of jokes on Late Night-shows for asking a cop if they knew who she was, to now being surprisingly wealthy via crypto in ways that I'm sure was all above board, and legally distinct from something that landed teenagers in jail when they tried something similar with the stock market in the early 00's over IRC, Reece Whiterspoon sure has had quite a career.
