[patreon news] An update on sales tax/VAT/GST

We wanted to give you a heads up about a small change to required tax on pledges. Patreon already adds sales tax/VAT/GST to pledges from patrons from various countries. They’re now required to start adding tax in a few new places:
- Canada (other than Quebec where Patreon already charges QST)
- Thailand
- Florida
- Kansas
To be more specific this should be the new rates, according to the email they've sent us:
If you live in one of those places, you should see a small amount of tax added to your pledge starting August 1st. Patreon will send an email to all patrons to notify them of this change in a few days - but we thought an heads up was due.

We don't like to bring this kind of news, nobody is happy when there's more taxes to pay - if you're from Canada, Thailand, Florida or Kansas and are planning to delete your pledge to us, it's no big deal! We understand and we're happy we've had you on board.
