Rex, I'm fairly new to the group. I just want to thank you for the knowledge that you've brought to my shop. I've wanted to take the plunge into handtools for a long time and have only dabbled because, frankly,I was overwhelmed. Same with tool restoration. You helped me see that it's not ancient magic. I mean it is, but you get what I'm saying. Thanks to you I have a growing collection of homemade wooden planes, a marking guage, various restored tools and a $35 no 5 spear and Jackson which is actually an extremely functional plane! (after 10 hours of fuss) ๐
