An update on my cross pepper!

You will be pleased to hear that my pepper on my chilli cross is continuing to grow! The colour on it is changing too. There are a couple others that have appeared as well, but this is still the most progressed.

An update on my cross pepper!

Comments

It will be interesting to see how quickly it matures! I am not sure it is necessarily going to go any quicker right now. But I will keep an eye on it!

So Exciting! I have been anxiously waiting for another update on your cross. That pepper is looking beautiful. Now that the pepper is starting to grow, do you think it will mature kind of at a normal rate.? In your opinion when do you think it will be ready to harvest? Very happy for you my friend. I know you have put a ton of time and effort getting to this point with your cross. I look forward to the next update. Great job! Stay Safe and Stay Spicy! - v/r Shane

I think maybe you just caused my wife and I’s next argument....

They definitely are worth growing. The rocoto I mentioned is very sweet and juicy....and very spicy! Certainly unique.

I’ve never, at least yet, grown a pubescens. It is extremely interesting, I wonder if the flavour profile and heat level are as unique in character?

Hey Karl, Have a look at a couple of my recent garden update videos where I discuss this cross of mine. It is showing so many different characteristics. Even the flowers are strange. Hairy leaves and stems are common with capsicum pubescens chilli plants (things like the Rocoto). But the cross here is a cross between c.frutescens (my piri piri) and c.baccatum (lemon drop). It is certainly an interesting one!

My intention is to get the seeds out there for free!

Good job. I can't wait to buy some seeds when you manage to stabilise it. 😉😉

It must be me but, the leaves are hairy. Ive never grown a hairy chilli before......is that normal?
