A Brief Chat About Money

Friends:

Today, we're doing a bit of inside baseball as I discuss the finances of Patreon and our content business as a whole. We're going to make some small changes to our video production schedule and (hopefully) make higher quality videos that reach a wider audience.

Thanks in advance for understanding. Patreon is the heart of everything we do and we're always going to put Patrons first.

See you soon!

Rex, I subscribed ten minutes ago. I get where you are coming from. As someone going through the start-up phase of my own business (Voiceover), I understand what needs to be done to keep your organisation's head above water. I prefer your long-form videos, especially those related to building something I can use in my garage workshop. I love the shorts where you debunk "accepted" ideas and show them for what they actually are. Those are great lifts for me. They give me hope in my hobby woodworking journey.

New patron here (literally only about an hour ago!), and what you're saying makes total sense. Personally, I prefer the longer-form videos, and the reality is that those take time. I'd rather see fewer videos, and longer content. As for 2024, I feel you there. It seems like a lot of us are finally coming down from the pandemic-induced need to "DO ALL THE THINGS!" Us dudes aren't always great at prioritizing our own health (physical or mental), so the fact that you've recognized the need to make a change is awesome IMO.
