Behind the Scenes: Chaos in the Shop

Friends:

Things have still been a mess in the shop. We've got construction; we've got equipment coming in; it's pure chaos. We could fight it or we could embrace it, so we turned the whole disaster into a video just for Patrons. Join us for a good old shop-vlog. We'll show you a bunch of stuff we don't normally show on camera.

Happy Saturday!

Behind the Scenes: Chaos in the Shop

Comments

Interesting. Like the printer farm. Would love one myself, no money to spare on a Disability Pension for such luxuries and no spare room at all. Need a bigger rental or our own house so we can unpack things properly. Our artwork have been in boxes for 25 yrs. Can't hang things on walls in rental places. We have been evicted have to becout by early Feb 2025. Finding it very hard due to having a caravan and all the other people looking as well. Plus we have a cat and a lot of properties aren't cat friendly.

Peter R Schuck

That's so kind of you to say!

Rex Krueger

Hope you enjoy!

Rex Krueger

Yeah, it's a meat-grinder industry for sure!

Rex Krueger

My pleasure!

Rex Krueger

Oh, the panels were easy. It was the lighting that I didn't remember and I don't usually point the camera up like that!

Rex Krueger

Glad you enjoyed them!

The Bel Air has always been my favorite looking vintage car! We're using the Bambu P1.

Rex Krueger

Man, it's evolved a lot. Now it's 3 cameras, wireless mics, lighting. I could do a video about it!

Rex Krueger

These machines cost $800 without the AMS filament switcher. I think that's a great price for the speed and quality you get, but I've never been in the hobby end of this. My concerns are strictly business and the cost makes sense for me. Bambu (the company that makes my printers) has many cheaper models and they're having a BIG sale right now.

Rex Krueger

I hope we get a chance to do that!

Rex Krueger

I don't think there are enough oats for that mess!

Rex Krueger

Well, any car over 25 years is *technically* classic, so the early models count.

Rex Krueger

I think they're almost done. God, I hope so.

Rex Krueger

Yup, it's been a busy week. I'm a blur, I'm moving so fast.

Rex Krueger

Benchy mc benchface (name for the little boat)? Working hard in shop, as usual. Subtle blurs here and there 😉

Wouter Engels

Thanks for the update, Rex. Hopefully the roof is done before the snows arrive. Best wishes for a productive week ahead.

Matt Evans-Koch

Miata? A classic car? Either I am older than I thought, or you are just wrong. I'm going with you and/or Lucas.

Bill Brisky

It looks like you need to dump some oats, overnight, on that damp patch 🫤😁

Lee Nightingale

Rex, just wanted to say, You are the best. Appreciate your content, your responsibility, your openness, your humility, and perhaps most of all, your integrity. Come out to California some time so we can have a beer together. And talk shop. Thanks a million, bro!

Russell Gough

Can I ask the cost of those 3d printers? I've always been curious about it, but not sure if it's worth the cost, and haven't heard great things about the cheaper models

Peter

Life is messy and wood shops are messier. Seeing bits of your video production stuff caused me think it would be neat to see how they made the movie type video. In this case it be interesting to see how your setup has evolved since you made a video about your first camera a few years ago.

Richard C von Brecht

Interesting, even if there was no woodworking going on. What printer are you using? (Thanks for the memory: "Bel Air" , my first car was a '68)

Fred Wolsey

Love the occasional shop blog (and breakfast food review ;) ). Thanks for keeping us in the loop, looks awesome!

Helge

As a thought, could you look back through a pervious vid for the panel locations?

Jim

Thanks for the peek 🤣. I didn’t check before I posted

Matthew Joseph Kennedy

That’s for the peek behind the scenes. Loved it

Matthew Joseph Kennedy

Always cool to see how the sausage is made.

Dave West

Happy Saturday Rex I'll watch it tomorrow as it's nearly midnight here in Oz.

Peter R Schuck

Looks like you had a long but fruitful day. Happy printing
