Build-Along Series Part 3

Friends:

It's time to get back to our EXCLUSIVE Patron build-along series. Today, we'll pick the wood and when I see you next, it will be time to get building.

I recorded this video on a Go-Pro Camera, so the sound is a little off. I'll use the mic next time.

Thanks so much for your support. You make this content possible!

See you next week!

Build-Along Series Part 3

Comments

I know the plans have the wood dimensions, but would be still nice to know what you started with from your wood stock.

Bradley Barth

I'm sorry, but I'm not great at calculating that. If you add up the top and the legs, that will get you pretty close. The aprons are very small.

Rex Krueger

I think doug fir is a great choice....but I might pick a more durable wood for the top. If you do use the fir, then pick a hard finish.

Rex Krueger

Walnut is perfect for this build!

Rex Krueger

So how much total board feet do we need for this?

Will Baumgardner

Thank you Rex for today's video. This is going to be a fun little project. I've got some really nice Doug Fir I can use for this. Now to get cracking. Have a good 4th of July.

Matt Evans-Koch

Ok I also have some figured maple. Not sure how much but I’ll make it work thanks

Wayne Miller

It's hard to recommend any design for outdoors. Wood and weather just don't mix. This table is pretty delicate. It's a fine end table, but I wouldn't subject it to anything rough. I think inside is best.

Rex Krueger

If I was still back in the states I would have used popular as well. I always liked the darker streaky pieces everyone seemed to avoid! I have some walnut planks coming in my pallet so thats what I will use!

Gerald Eddy

Thank you!

Rex Krueger

So I have some ar cedar left over from a project how would this design fair as an out door table?

Wayne Miller

Thanks, Rex. That was a short and sweet video, which that's all it needed to be.
