Friends:

I'm delighted to come to you today and announce a BIG guest for the next workbench sessions. It's all in the video, but trust me; it's worth the time to watch.

When you're done, head on over to the forum, where I've made a thread and we can all discuss what's coming.

Cheers Rex! Thank you so much for a the hard work you and your family put into this channel ❤

Stuart Woodcock

Great Choice for a guest, I am going to try to attend live.

Skully Wood and Metal

YES!!! I am super, SUPER stoked for this!!! Roy Underhill is an incredible, invaluable woodworking icon! I was watching him long before I got into woodworking. His books are wonderful reads, so well written and done so on such a warm personal level. The books make woodworking feel like home to me. He is one of my heroes in the sphere of woodworking; I simply cannot wait to see this!!! Thanks Rex!!!

Roger A Tubbs

Don't feel bad; I am too.

Rex Krueger

Thank you!

Rex Krueger

This is awesome news!

Rane Olsen

I remember as a child seeing Roy but back then I never was interested in hand tool work, now I would Love to get every episode on DVD instead of hunting them on YouTube. Can not wait to see this one!

Solia

Farm out Rex! I started trying to watch Roy over 30 years ago. Unfortunately, there was no cable where I lived at the time and using an antenna was iffy at best, but I watched everything I could and bought a few of his books. Will be astounding seeing you visit with him. Great job.

Matt Evans-Koch

Wow! my two wood working heroes together. (I’m such a shameless fan boy)

Richard C von Brecht

Wow this is exciting news. Well done Rex!!!!!1

Rex, the fact that you have brought such quality craftspeople as Ron Hock, Joshua Klein, and wow, Roy Underhill to the Workbench Sessions is testament to the quality of the content you have been providing. You have shown that the basement shop, plywood sheet tool storage screwed to the wall and the occasional shot of the washer and dryer are not impediments to well thought out scripts and great presentation, and that simple projects for beginners fit in well with some sophisticated builds on a set that is not a set, it's the kind of space in which most of us work;)

John Griswold

Woaaaaah! Fantastic news! Really looking forward to this.

I hit the wrong button so this is just the end of my first comment. I have two suggestions abotu two other people you maybe could get. The first is Norm Abrams. OK today everyone like to dump on Norm. For the power tool guys we was not precise enough, for the handwork tool guys ... well he used power tools. But lets face it, without Norm woodworking as a hoby would have likely pretty much died. My second sugestion is Paul Sellers. To my way of thinking he is the ultimate mid - early 20th century English woodworker. He really knows his stuff and he uses tools that one cam afford like his favorite plane ... Stanley / Baily #4, USA. To me the supreme compliment would be if Paul said I was good enough to be an apprencise to him (FAT CHANCE!!!)

Nicholas Loy

First, Roy is a gret choice, cograds!! Second, you are unique in a very good way ... again cograds!!

Nicholas Loy

Another possible suggestion for the workbench sessions: While they've all been recorded as videos I think (but don't know - I watched the first one but am not yet up to the $5 level) they're mostly audio-driven. Have you considered releasing them as podcasts? Some podcasts that I listen to have special "donor only" feeds, where there's a secret link that they send out to donors, who can then use that to access the donor only feeds for bonus content. I know I'm more likely to be able to listen to a long conversation on podcast than to watch on video, but I'd be interested in bumping up my donor level if they could be access in that way!

Michael Carman

Well done Rex!

Graham Hypher

Congrats, Rex! And THANK YOU for procuring Roy for us patrons! That’s really fabulous news and I’m genuinely excited for you as host and for us as viewers. Roy is a real treasure, and we’re super fortunate to have him. Great job!!!

Russell Gough

What great news! I was a PBS baby. I started out wanting to be Norm but ended up as Roy. "This Old House" and "The Woodwright's Shop" were My favorite shows as a kid. In fairness to Norm, I still need to use power tools for work but after seeing Rex's video on the English Workbench at the start of COVID I've been hooked on hand tools.

Andrew

OMG!

Rick Prosser

Hi, look forward to that, if you do put it on Vimeo, then I don't think it does auto-captions, but you can add a captioned file. Until you get closed captions sorted out please can you keep putting the videos on YouTube which does have auto captions? Many thanks.

The Deaf Maker

As a $3/month guy, I'm another one who would be very interested in buying some individual videos. Great idea!

Gordon Brandly

Wow, Rex! This is incredible news! Kudos to you for making this happen. I am a HUGE fan of Roy and did some “Roy Binging” a few months ago, watching his videos. I agree that an interview and some Q&A on hand tool woodworking with him would be the best approach. Thanks again for doing this. You da man, Rex!!

Sean O'Neill

Huge news! Awesome and well done!

Sam Brelsfoard

Okay, you got me. I just bumped my support to $5. I hope Roy doesn't cut himself during the interview.

Bob Templeton

Roy F'in Underhill! You know you've made it when you can get Roy on your channel. Congrats.

Michael Bennett

That's quite a get there Rex. A real tribute to the work you have put into education and free content over the years. Just like Roy, funnily enough!

Pete McKinlay

Talk about serendipity. Was browsing a website a little over an hour ago and followed a link to Roy Underhill.

Philip Edmondson

I am not at all surprised someone of Mr. Underhill's stature is willing to talk to you; you're a consummate professional and wildly enthusiastic. Very excited about the idea of buying single episodes. I've entered the short-attention-span period of life and just can't watch all the video I'd like to.

Joel D Canfield

WHAAAAATTTT??????

Eric Paisley

This is great news, Rex. Keep up the good work. Can't wait for this one!

Jim Sweeney

Wow! Just... Ok, you are going big time Rex. Time to see if you can get Paul Sellers on an episode next :D

Daniel Tickle

NO WAY!!! I have seen the few episodes available on youtube and fell in love. The one take stuff they did it in is just insane. Cant wait for the upload. Thank you Rex for making this possible

Otakar Schön

Roy is the Man. Super excited.
