My plough plane video is a surprise hit! I never know what's going to jump off, but people love tools. I love tools, too. I also love making them and I'm proud to present you with this totally updated Specialty Plane Bundle, totally revamped in Fusion 360.

2021-09-30 19:56:26 +0000 UTCI've been looking at getting a new Veritas one for awhile. Definitely pricey, but they make a left-handed version. That might be the only reason I'd make one. If I could build one in less time than it would take to earn the money to buy a new one, it'd be worth it. So the challenge then, is can I build one in less than ~$300 in time and materials.

I figure a couple holes for fence rods, a fence, and maybe a connecting piece for the two depth stops would be a good start. Of course, then you need a second body piece with a skate for when you use wider blades, plus locks for that (and the fence), some way to hold the chisels of different sizes, and... Oh. Now I see why it's easier to buy one. Or make one that uses the traditional irons with a small tang. Never mind, carry on!
