Early Access: Hand Tool Book Review Podcast

Friends:

I recently appeared on the Hand Tool Book Review Podcast to discuss Aldren Watson's magnificent Country Furniture. I had a delightful discussion with Ray, the host, and he graciously offered both episodes early for my Patrons. We cover a lot of ground in this show and Ray himself is very knowledgeable and articulate. I highly recommend his podcast.

You all get to hear these episodes well before his audience does. Big thanks to Ray for a great talk!

Episode 2 here: https://soundcloud.com/handtoolbookreview/s1-e11-rex-figures-out-country-furniture-by-aldren-watsonpart-2-of-2/s-0M9Bz

Hope your week is off to a great start!

Arrived this afternoon. I can see myself reading this cover-to-cover and a lot of Post-Its infiltrating its pages.

I'm sorry, i think this is the only distribution method. You don't need to download anything. It streams.

You won't be disappointed!

Ray has really hit on an interesting idea here and his reviews are killer. I'm no rockstar, but so what?

Rex Krueger

So glad you liked it. Stay tuned for a full video on building with inexpensive woods as well as a great furnitre project.

Rex Krueger

I haven't heard that one, but I do LOVE Freakanomics.

That was very good. The talk about hobbyists and their inventions brought me to recall a podcast I listened to this past weekend. This is from Freakonomics (episode 399), titled: "Honey, I Grew the Economy." https://freakonomics.com/podcast/home-innovation/ The premise is that household innovation is huge even compared to the overall production of corporate R&D. And more. I wouldn't be surprised if you had not already listened to this, given your conversation with Ray.

That was very pleasurable to listen to! Your YouTube videos are great and informative, but being able to hear you interact solidifies my opinion of you as a communicator! And of course I had to download soundcloud in order to continue listening to Ray as well. Country Furniture is in my wish list and I look forward to reading it. I appreciate your push in creating work that is functional and made from what you got with what you have. It's been intimidating for me to want to make anything seeing as how the preferred hardwoods of woodworking can be difficult to come by. Thanks for affirming function over fashion!

O.o Nice! "YouTube Rock Star" :D I don't normally listen to podcasts, by and large. Years ago I use to listen to Peter Gzowski: he was an amazing interviewer. Most podcasts people want me to listen to are not interviews, but rather more blah blah talking head stuff. This interaction is much more interesting. Looking forward to more like this from this fellow. I will listen to it for a time. Thanks kindly

Btw, ordered Country Furniture. Looking forward to it.

A rare occasion that I listen to a podcast, and if I do, make it through it to the end--short attention span; mind drifts. I am a third of the way through the second podcast. Says a lot, Rex. (two thumbs up)

What offline way can I listen to this as I don't use or want soundcloud? Cheers, Andy
