A Quick Note on Channel Memberships

You might have noticed that I recently rolled out Channel Memberships on YouTube. This feature allows people to support the channel directly on YouTube.
You might be wondering how this will effect Patreon or if the rewards will be better for Channel Members.
Don't worry; nothing will change here. I have some custom emojis and membership badges for Channel Members but Patreon is going to stay my focus. You all have made this channel possible and I'm going to keep giving you the early access and exclusive content you've come to expect.
I'm doing Channel Memberships for one reason: some people will NEVER become Patrons. Some people have political or ideological objections to Patreon or they don't want to go through the sign-up process. Many of these people have specifically asked me to offer Channel Memberships. So, I'm rolling this option out for people who don't want to do Patreon.

I had a;ready worked with power tools and it got a little boring. Seeing the pure hand tool approach, especially stuff you could easily pick up on the cheap from flea markets, resale store, etc definitely kicked some excitement backing the hobby for me. I am glad to support the your content and channel.

Some thought that it was taking an ideological stance promoting certain values and somehow denying people freedom of speech (which isn't technically a right on any media platform). There was an exit of some of the banned party's followers but in the long run it seems that most people agreed with Patreon's decisions.
